Discussion for article #227819
Happy to hear that GOP Senators are now willing to go on record supporting full deportation, including dreamers. I wonder if any will break ranks…
GOPers didn’t bother to pass legislation forcing W to “protect” the borders when everyone came across to provide cheap labor for the housing bubble.
What else would you expect from someone named Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III ?
The Republicans should start measuring the Oval Office for drapes. Assuming we still use drapes in the year 2092. There might be some space age thing on the windows like on the Jetsons.
Isn’t the absolute authority of the President to grant amnesty in that document the Republicans claim to love? You know, that Constitution thingy?
Ah, the joys of baggernut posturing!
That Constitution thingy is 'just a GodDamned piece paper" according to dubya.
Why yes you little fool, go on record with all of the bigots in your party voting to deport dreamers. It is not like Hispanics are not activated and paying close attention, or that there will not even be more of them as registered voters in 2016, when your pathetic party will once again lose the Presidency, and by the way, has quite a few Senate seats to defend in that Presidential year election. I guess this is just more of that “outreach to minorities” failure of your party.
Ever notice the absence of lips on most TeaPubs?
Wonder if:
They’ve been worn off
or
Sold as part of the KochPACs’ deal.
Or both of the above?
Worn off from too much Kochfascist butt kissing for dollars.
“People need to be held accountable.”
Unless they’re Republicans. In which case the Republicans hold everyone else accountable. Because it says right there in the Republican platform (pick one, any one) that no Republican may ever be held accountable or responsible for anything that doesn’t go completely and absolutely right, with no errors, no mistakes, no wrong stuff at all, and accrues positive credit and lots of money to Republicans and leaves no grounds for any criticism, not even the teeniest, tiniest, wee bit of criticism. Yup. Besides, if you criticize a Republican or a Republican plan you are de facto a commie, Islamist, unpatriotic, baby-killing, latte-slurping, dick-sucking, darkie traitor to the United States of the Republican Party. And double that if you’re from the North… sorry… the Union.
Yup. It’s true. Yup.
Except for a handful of endangered Democratic senators this seems to be a win for both sides.
Whoa! I didn’t realize the banjo-playing Appalachian kid from Deliverance grew up to be a senator. Cool!
They don’t need to, because it will never pass.
Glad to see Senator Reid getting the GOP to put it on the record to.
Sen. Sessions is in dire need of a session with a psychiatrist…
Yep, it’s nice of the Republicans to hand President Obama such a nice gift. When the WH announced it would delay action on immigration for a mere six weeks, immigration activists got all apoplectic. I think it’s great that Republicans want to help remind some folks that while Democrats want to delay action for several weeks, Republicans want to undo all the president has already done and keep him from doing more.
I’m also struck by the stupidity of Sessions forcing a vote on this. Guys like Rubio are already in deep trouble for 2016, forcing him to take this vote only stands to hurt him in the future.
Senator Sessions is a lazy POS. Why can’t these clown actually accomplish something of merit and work to improve the lives of the American people? Could it be politics over reality?
It doesn’t matter if it passes or not. Being on record having voted to send children back to countries they may not have been to since they were babies could certainly come back to haunt some Republicans, particularly those in blue or purple states or states with a large immigrant population.
