Discussion: Senate Vote Equal Pay For Women

Discussion for article #227510

If you’re not outraged by the GOTP’s conduct in BOTH houses of Congress, you’re not paying attention.

Let’s hope we haven’t crossed the threshold of “too many people not paying attention.”

OK, so like the Constitutional Amendment to allow Congress to set limits on campaign contributions, this is just another GOP delaying tactic that is going nowhere in the long run. “We’ll be happy to debate it, just don’t ask us to allow a vote on it.”

This is in the category of getting the Republicans on the record on gender fairness issues. Good strategy.

A lot may depend on how well the debate can be publicized. There aren’t a lot of senate republicans who would be well served by being on TV saying “No, women really don’t deserve to be paid as much as men for doing the same job.”

It would be lovely to see Equal Pay in the White House. Sadly, a distant dream.
