But former holdouts, both moderate Republicans from Medicaid expansion states and hardline conservatives, said they relented and voted to advance into the unknown because they were promised they would have a fighting chance at passing their preferred policies in the end.

LOLOLOL And they believed the leadership?!? Is there no end to the delusions???

Just in pure, practical terms the free for all of potential amendments would likely end up negating each other as unworkable, so how does this make any sense whatsoever?!?

Just like on Tuesday’s motion to proceed vote, any three Republicans can get together and kill any of the health care bills that come up for a vote, and there is no guarantee that any plan under consideration has the potential to pass.

While Trump and McConnell are running around, pretending that they have passed this awful bill, it’s a long, long way from the president’s* desk. Even if the Senate does have to pass “Swiss Cheese” the final bill still has to pass the House-Senate conference. Today was just more kabuki to show the base that they are serious about repeal. Not even close to becoming a law. Yet…

Jonson will vote for whatever McConnell tells him to. Just like he caved when being flat out lied to by McConnell before yet there he was, voting yes on MPT.

Scumbags, one and all.

They will give speeches for weeks and take an occasional vote on an amendment. Then they will convene for vacation without coming up with a bill that they all can agree on which could give Trump a victory.

TrumpCare will officially become the turkey that Donald has to pardon on Thanksgiving…just like everyone else he’s allowed Putin to touch.

It makes sense – or at least they think it does – as political theater.

In other words it’s a forum for the various GOP members to strike whatever pose they feel best serves their re-election hopes – some working to cozy up to Trump and the GOP leadership by supporting the Trumpcare 3.0 framework, some supporting Trump-Cruzcare, some supporting repeal-without-any-replacement, others posturing as moderates, supporting adding some crumbs back to slightly ease the Medicaid cuts, or adding opiate-crisis related funding, etc.

Basically everybody gets to vote for the amendments they want so that they can go home and say “I voted for (whatever happens to be in their district).” And since the only thing likely to come out of all of this is some placeholder “skinny repeal” bill that goes to conference committee, at this point it’s pretty much all Land of Make Believe stuff.

They’re just going to call a vote at 3 in the morning and claim they had unanimous consent.

I never really figured the Grand Old Party would be the one to usher us into single-payer, but here we go.

Don’t be deceived, conservatives.

The Republican plan is precisely to raise premiums. By the time you realize you’ve been robbed, it’ll be too late.

Remember the lady who said, “Keep the Government’s hands off my Medicare?” I’m waiting for the video of the outraged person who says, “Yeah. I wanted them to take away Obamacare, but NOT MY healthcare.” Just a matter of time.

The Republicans are shoveling out dumpsters to make their Lawsage™.

In trying to find a silver lining to this celebration of GOP buffoonery, the closer this GOP-induced trainwreck creeps towards 2018, the more epic the thumping the GOP will take.

Following Donnie’s oft-repeated move, the GOP might as well just file for bankruptcy right now.

That would be an awesome trick. But somehow, it would turn out to be The Prestige.
“Now, you’re looking for the secret. But you won’t find it because, of course, you’re not really looking. You don’t really want to work it out. You want to be fooled.”

Sen. Dean Heller was threatened by trump face to face that he better vote for this healthcare bill… or else. So he voted ‘yes’ as trump wanted.

Coward.

Single payer? Good luck with that wish. Repubs willnever go for that. Not as long as they hold the majority.

Think about it. Millions of Americans’ access to healthcare depends on the votes of an octogenarian that literally actively has brain damage.
