"In fact, " Grassley continued, “voting on the president’s nominees at all is just a courtesy – one we don’t extend to Democrats.”

He said past chairmen of the committee had rarely used negative or unreturned blue slips as unilateral vetoes. The most recent exception was Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont, who was chairman during the first six years of Obama’s presidency. “That was his prerogative,” Grassley said.
If the Dems take back the Senate, they need to keep that fucking dinosaur from Vermont away from the committee. He's done enough damage.

We all remember his sternly worded letters during the Bush years.

We know that integrity and courtesy are just not Republican ideals or goals," just win baby". That is how simple minded they are.
There used to be decent Republicans, but they got the Donald stain: get it at any cost, don’t care if its Russian money, judges,or the rule of law.
Just win. Dying fish in the swamp

It is a courtesy - one of the many that Democrats are supposed to extend to Republicans. Expecting any of these courtesies to be returned from this bunch of hypocrites is naive. The quest for “bipartisanship” is a weapon that has always been wielded all too effectively by the GOP. Remember all those calls for Obama to reach across the aisle after both of his victories? Did ANYONE make the same calls for Trump to do the same?

It all makes sense when you realize that Democratic Presidents are all illegitimate in the eyes of the opposing party.
