It is amazing how completely craven the GOP enablers are, and it’s also sickening.
They keep lowering the Barr, everyday.
If Graham is on the Sunday talk shows, someone needs to ask him about his vote to impeach Clinton.
So far infrastructure week has been pretty exciting.
Don’t fret. Ben Sasse is right now writing another best seller about integrity.
They are clawing through the pages looking for their own names.
They got off really easy, I think Congress was out of scope for this report. But Nunes has obviously dirty hands, and McConnell also has huge culpability for suppressing public notification of the Russian hacking in 2016.
McConnell does appear briefly, in II footnote 283. He deserves a lot more, I think.
Good sign. Here’s a reminder of their response after the summary was released:
Not so excited this time huh?
Senate Republicans Keeping Quiet
Really? Even Senator Burr? Because, according to the Mueller report, he’s quite chatty.
Is anyone asking McTurtle about the coincidence of him pushing for Derapaska sanctions relief and somehow magically landing a Derapaska $200 million aluminum plant in KY?
My, my, my… it’s so unlike them to be so tight lipped when presidents do wrong…
Really have to wonder how many are doing the math and wondering if this will be enough to drag down their entire party in 2020, and if it is time to cut bait on Trump and try to hold onto power in the Senate. Even Senate seats in deep red states are not as safe as House seats in gerrymandered districts, since a Senate seat is a statewide election. You can’t win without your base, but you can’t win with ONLY your base either
Clearly Barr’s attempt to set the narrative didn’t go according to plan and has exposed him as the partisan hack he has always been. The efforts to slow roll the information and control the narrative is understandable, but every time Barr communicated to Congress and the press his credibility took a hit once the public dug into that communication and compared that to what was already known. By the time they got to the press conference yesterday morning, it seems the majority of the press knew to wait a couple hours for the report itself before taking Barr’s comments at face value.
Senate GOPers are all wearing Depends, sucking their thumbs, and hiding. These scared weasels know Mueller is right and Trump is a criminal. They just place their allegiance to Trump above their oaths of office.
Well, their aides are. They’ll all spend the weekend praying at a retreat, while the other aides come out every half hour and throw some shit-coated lies on the wall to see if they’ll stick. By Sunday they’ll have their talking points lined up and sent to FOXS and the radio hosts.
Sasse loves Trump and Trumpism. He just wishes it would be a more polite kind of fascism and white nationalism.
Mitch is laser focused on putting ultra conservative judges in place for 30 years or more. It is the complete takeover of the courts that motivates him. He’s moving fast because he knows this travesty is going to explode.
Lindsey Graham, then and now:
And when he gives a non-answer, they need to keep asking the question over and over until he actually answers it.
One essential “thing” about Lindsey has not changed, however. . .
(1) Voter Apathy
(2) Voter Suppression
If they can pull that off, they are good…none of the above is inspiring to anyone…so they are left with their same old playbook.
Let’s not help them out.
Next to Barr, the most dangerous man in the United States. And if/when Barr leaves, # 1
Lindsey Graham should resign the Senate position he has disgraced and return to his starring role on “Petticoat Junction.”
