We are so boned. It seems the only facet of this thing that is not up for discussion is the permanent part of the corporate tax cuts.
Try a 25% corporate rate, and a nice middle-class cut and pay for it by closing loopholes for the rich. That would give you maybe 48 more votes.
And probably lose you 52 votes, including the VP’s.
Middle-class tax cut. Dreamer.
Sweeten the pot with a tax on baby formula in cities and subsidies for coal powered wind turbines. That will bring them around.
Once this thing passes there will be a party in the white house where all these folks get drunk. Once they’re good and hammered and inhibitions loosened, aside from groping interns I fully expect them to bellow out multiple boisterous rounds of “Hail Hydra!”.
Republicans are quickly learnign that tax cuts, actually cuts to REVENUE, can’t be covered with their voodoo crazy assumptions. Tax cuts must be paid for with wither spending cuts or tax increases elsewhere.
The biggest area to cut to pay for the corporate tax cuts and the tax cuts for Trump and the rich is to cut military spending. Cut the Pentagon budget by $ 350 M…and that will pay for the tax cuts for the Croporations and the rich along with increasing taxes on the working poor.
The whole point of this is to have a barrel of sound bites for 2020 to go after the democrats for trying to raise taxes.
