The filibuster problem is fixable. I say, limit the uses per year to something like one a week. That way the party using the filibuster would have to be damned sure about what they wanted to block instead of everything wholesale like it is now. And if you need to use more than one in a week, then you lose one week later, plus, if you don’t use one in a week, it’s gone. Use it or lose it.
How about, there must be an equal amount of days on the congressional calendar as there are the availability of filibusters?
How about, majority rules because they won the election?

Their is no reason for any person to ever vote for a Republican. Most people are hanging on by a very thin rope and a lot of them continue to vote for the candidate who most likely is willing to cut that rope.

Quite. The GOP has for some inexplicable reason got a completely free pass on the idea that nothing can pass by simple majority vote, when up until 2008, the use of the filibuster was an absolutely exceptional matter, for use only to stop deeply controversial and unpopular measures.
