I really don’t give a damn WHY you decide you hate it, I only need three people to hate it. People will die in my family once Medicaid is gutted.

Die.

When are the Death Panels coming?

Why do you think McTreason won’t let you see it?

I’ll just be absolutely astounded if they gut Obama care. It’s one thing to cut some programs folks have to cut other folks taxes, but if people all of a sudden start losing health care they’ve only had since Obama care and start dying, it really going to wake up poor republican voters that are still alive and maybe even motivate a lot of non voters.

Trump promised health care for all at cheaper premiums, co-pays, out-of-pocket costs, and better coverage. Will he and McConnell, et al, be proven liars?

No matter what McConnell does, there will be time (perhaps several days) for hearings. Since the Republicans won’t allow any regular ccommittee hearings, the Democrats should hold their own televised round-the-clock hearings starting shortly after the bill is introduced. The hearings should be chaired by the ranking members of the appropriate committees, and should have witnesses who are experts, as well as witnesses who will be hurt. The hearings should pipe in people from Relublican states who will be hurt. And the hearings should also emphasize the economic damage, which will go way beyond beneficiaries, and include doctors, nurses etc. And the hearings should discuss at length the hypocrisy of the Republican Senators keeping their health insurance while millions of taxpayers lose theirs.

Haven’t heard a single word from the Democrats about doing anything like this. The Democratic leadership never thinks outside the box. Sad.

”They indicated that the legislation would also be available to the public Thursday morning, though it’s unclear exactly how it is being released.”

According to a McConnell spokesperson, the legislative text will be provided only in the following forms:

  • Sanskrit.
  • Braille.
  • Navajo Code Talk.
  • Mime.
  • Esperanto.
  • Parseltongue.
  • Mayan Glyph.
  • Klingon.
  • Voynich Manuscript.

Babel fish, Enigma machines, and Steven Pinker will be strictly prohibited inside the conference room.

Is that Thursday A.M. in Washington DC? Or Moscow?

Some of the Voynich illustrations would probably be appropriate for the Republican Health Care Plan.

I gave up hoping Republicans would wise up and do the right thing. Not even 3 measly republicans can be counted on.

So Collins is fine with voting to defund PP if she first gets to vote no on a meaningless amendment which will be designed to fail?

What a phony.

I’ve said in the past that the Democrats should use Newt Gingrich’s early behavior as Minority Leader as a model. He was very effective at controlling the news cycle with all kinds of stunts.

Sen. Collins also expressed some concerns about the provision allowing babies from Medicaid families to be euthanized, with the goal of cutting Medicaid expenditures.

She said: “I’m going to take a good, long & hard look at that baby-killing measure. Sen. Murkowski and I don’t think that provision is allowed under reconciliation rules. Instead, we should vote on it as a separate amendment to the Bill. Then we’ll be good”.

As we all know, this was satire. But NOT THAT BIG a jump.

I’m sorry, but the only thing that would astound me would be if the ACA wasn’t dead by next Friday. I don’t have any hope that poor republicans or non voters will blame Republicans for their plight either. I think we’ve all seen article after article that show they don’t believe Democrats, that they don’t believe science. Hell, they don’t even believe their own eyes an ears. Our only hope to get rid of these jackals is if they fuck things up bad enough for their donors to start feeling the pinch too. Then maybe, but what would be left?

“…she [Collins] said she hinted that she would be comfortable with it if she had the opportunity to vote on an amendment to strip the measure.”

So it’s all just posturing. How obscene. Typical Republican - vote like the Borg, as long as they can tell their voters they really really tried…

Even if they manage to push this POS through the Senate, they will still have to have a conference with the House to reconcile the differences. This stuff ain’t gonna happen by July 4, that I can tell you. I eagerly await the CBO score, and the pathetic attempts to smear that non-partisan agency. The GOP are so desperate to keep their promise to “repeal Obamacare” that they have forgotten how our government actually functions. Not surprising, and I don’t ever think they will satisfy the Krazy Kaucus in the House.

what greysea said.

at this point, if trump (or Ryan or McConnell) were to walk out on 5th Ave, line up a row of poor republicans and shoot them, their families would applaud the second amendment and blame obama and the libtards for the deaths.
