Discussion: Senate Narrowly OKs Trump Judicial Pick With Rare 'Not Qualified' ABA Rating

“Grasz will be the 10th appellate court nominee of the Trump presidency. Two more appellate court nominees are expected to be voted on later this week.”

That is what its all about for McConnell. He wants to leave his lasting legacy on the Judicary before he retires in 2020. And he will put up with anything from Trump to get that done.

“Grasz was only the third nominee since 1989 to be unanimously deemed “not qualified” by the ABA. In that time, it has reviewed more than 1,700 nominees. Since Grasz’s evaluation, Brett Talley has also been unanimously rated “not qualified.” Talley has been nominated to serve as a district judge in Alabama but has never tried a case in court.”

Talley is the really shocking one. The man is/was a self proclaimed “Ghost Buster”, who has no legal experience to speak of.

The Congressional Research Service said the number of nominees who received a “not qualified” rating ranged from a high of nine nominees during the Eisenhower presidency to no nominees who received such a rating during the presidencies of Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Obama.

Wow, even Nixon is actually more competent or ethical on this front.

Some liberal advocacy groups fear Grasz will be hostile to abortion rights and laws protecting gays from discrimination.

I’m pretty sure he will also be hostel to labor and consumer rights. Basically anyone who isn’t a white christian cis male… you know those “special interests.”

Every single Trump judge should be seen as illegitimate.

I look forward to Chuck Grassley’s demise. I intend to get drunk that day or night, no matter what the time is when the news hits the wires.

If you wanna go full-on celebratory we could hire a bus to drive people to dance on his grave and have a live blue grass or folk band play at the event. I’m picturing a contra dance party where someone calls out the steps to stomp on the grave and twirl your partner away.

What remains a royal pisser is that the Democrats aren’t in the majority in the first place. How the fuck have things gone so off the rails in this country that a shit stain like Trump ever had a chance? I’m so enraged by the apparent lame political skills of the Dems that it’s giving me ulcers. So, Chuck, bitch about the GOP all you want, but somehow, the Dems figure out how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, so here we are.

Of course. The GOP has lost all pretense of responsible governing.

but that maxie person said women politicians take too much money from Wall Street.

I’m not over Franken being pushed out, however. Not by a long shot.

So should we expect him to be appealed and reversed often?

Sounds good to me. I am Puerto Rican, but I would be willing to purchase Lederhosen for this event.

When Mitch and Chuck go to “meet their maker (the sooner the better),” not a single Democrat is to utter as much as a single neutral word about the bastards, let alone anything nice or positive. They are explosive, bloody diarrhea stains on the living room couch – and should be treated as such. They are not nice, never to be treated as nice; they are unworthy of compassion … for the remainder of their natural lives. Mitch McConnell and Chuck Grassley are terrorists, nothing less.

“Advocates represent their clients’ interests. Judges must be neutral officials who apply the law as it exists and not according to any personal views or opinions.”

And parrots usually just get a cracker, not a federal judicial appointment, when they repeat what they’re taught to say but don’t actually understand.

That is the only saving grace of shit-stain judicial nominees. Of course if it gets to the highly biased SCOTUS, you are screwed. I am constantly at a loss as to how non-voters do not understand the extended ramifications of voting at their leisure. It directly impacts on the courts, and therefore their personal lives.

But you have a good point. Appeals and reversals are the saving grace of the judicial cluster-****

With some sorta kinda nostalgia, I am now looking back on the time when Miers’s nomination was withdrawn. And I firmly believed back then we were witnessing the worst administration in our lifetime… :persevere:

And the total annihilation of any shred of legal expertise, impartiality and objectivity in the Federal judiciary continues apace. These are the land mines that will be exploding on us 20, 30 and 40 years down the road.

We’ll add him to the ‘Ha Ha You’re Dead’ list.

Make that every single Trump appointee and Trump executive order and every damned piece of legislation he signs (okay, let that Post Office keep it’s new name; no need to be vindictive). And don’t forget Gorsuch, product of the illegitimate president and the arrogant McConnell.

Here’s part of how the fuck it could’ve happened. For a change blame those who don’t vote and not the people who have to manage to represent D’s interests among people who don’t give a shit. Blame the Electoral College while you’re at it for electing the piece of shit in the WH. Or blame Comey who 11 days ahead of the election spoke about emails flipping MI, PA and OH to trump in an instant. When only 57% of the country votes and a big chunk of them have been informed by Fox News shit happens.
