Something’s afoot here. Why is Whitaker delaying for no reason?

It’s possible Barr could be a halfway decent AG (which is the best one can expect with the Trump regime). Nevertheless, he could be a true lawless scumbag who puts Trump and party above country. No one can tell. That’s why it’s good Democrats on the Committee opposed his nomination. That said, Barr will get one or two Democrats on the Senate floor voting for him. (Manchin and one other, perhaps).

Smart Democrats don’t want any claim they support this guy.

I think this was hurried through to get Barr up to a full Senate vote so Whitaker can slink away, unnoticed, (and unsupoened)

Barr. Is. There. To. Protect. McConnell. Not the president. That is why he’s being confirmed. He will be the Kavanaugh of AG’s.

That’s quite an interesting theory. I wish I could tell you you are wrong. :flushed:

Whitaker can be subpoenaed to testify before Congress after leaving the DOJ.

Barr seems to be highly regarded and he is friends with Mueller. I hope the evidence Mueller presents to Barr will be so overwhelming that he won’t “cover up” Presidential wrongdoing. But, I am concerned about Barr’s role in Bush senior administration’s Presidential pardons of Iran-Contra participants. Could that be the real reason Trump nominated Barr?
