Discussion: Senate Intel Releases New Findings On Russia's 2016 Election Meddling

This seems a little bit important, no?

“In a small # of states, Russian-affiliated cyber actors were in a position to, at a minimum, alter or delete voter registration data.”

Don’t need to change votes if you stop the right voters from voting.

Nothing earth shattering but it does show the Senate Intel committee has a modicum of credibility…

They also know that this is not their show…

…a “small number of states,” …

In the immortal words of Ralph Kramden, “a mere bag o’ shells.” Probably just some states that don’t really count.

Nothing to see here. Move along. Go to your homes.

Russia altering some voter registration in select states seems a little concerning… no?

Absolutely, but that was hinted at earlier, was it not? The day that Grassley and Feinstein emerged looking like they saw a ghost might have been the day they were briefed on it…

I find faith in that some R’s actually felt a duty to their constitution and country…

Many months late, and many dollars short. The R’s sense of duty appears to be pretty weak sauce.

“[H]owever, they did not appear to be in a position to manipulate individual votes or aggregate vote totals,”

Bullshit. If you can alter who can vote in the first place by deleting people from voter rolls you can certainly manipulat individual or aggregate vote totals. Add that to the GOP’s voter suppression tactics and you have a stolen election.

People need to be in prison for this.

Bingo. This is the Republicans demonstrating that Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

Yes, but imagine a Nunes clone in the Senate…

Shudder…

True enough. As bad as the Senate is, the House is scarier.

And the thread collapsed into a black hoie of mutual agreement…

Trump did not win. The votes were messed with in at least 3 states. It has been clear all along if you look closely enough. And yet we hear over and over, from the MSM and politicians, “ Well, he did win, after all.”

NO. He did not. And yet we are far enough along that there is no undoing it.

I agree with Clare. Our system is based on all the people voting, not just Republicans. If the Russians hacked the voter registration data, the whole election should be recalled. We know that neither the house nor GOP led senate will make any recommendations, so we need to vote them out - that is unless they have screwed up the 2018 voting system.

Heck, I am not letting them stop me from voting. That said, the democrats should be prepared for an all out hacking attack for the midterms, or at least a way to contest them.

So, the Senate Intel Committee (run by republicans) and ALL of our national security and intelligence apparatus, INCLUDING the new Secretary of State ALL say Russia took over our 2016 election.

Trump: “Vladimir says they didn’t do it, and I trust him.”

Trump: “No collusion!”

Let that all sink in for a minute…

I still want to know what they were told that day. Grassley’s been all over the place, not sure where to put him on the credibility scale (mostly not).

Agreed. A candidate for a 21st century Von Papen…
