Discussion: Senate Intel Chair Calls For Barr To Release As Much Of Mueller Probe As Possible

a couple of months ago my nephew, who’s in the navy and a tour that took them to dubai, the mediterrean, and se asia, was expecting to return to the u.s., but their ship was ordered back at sea with the expectation they would be going to war.

edit to add: he’s expecting to be home next week.

Hey where I live Gronks retirement was trending higher than the Barr report. This is important stuff. Seriously tho I agree that the Barr statement was not all bad. Looked like a weak attempt to split the baby to me. Mueller found that Russians interfered with social media and hacked the DNC, obstruction was a jump ball and collusion depends on directly cutting a deal with the Russian government according to Trump appointees. If that is the best Barr could do than the actual report must be a dozy. This is far from over.

It isn’t over. The fat lady hasn’t got to sing, yet - and neither has the thin one.

tRump and his spawn have not been exonerated, there isn’t sufficient evidence to be confident of getting a prosecution in a court of law, against the POTUS or the ‘tRump Campaign’ for conspiring with the Russian state or obstructing justice on the grounds that they attempted to subvert an investigation into a conspiracy involving the Russian state; that is the judgement of the AG. It isn’t hard to understand why it is the view of the AG.

The OSC has found plenty that needs to be investigated and - from what I read and understand - that can and should be prosecuted. Mr Mueller has concluded his investigation but the investigations, of what came to light, are far from over. POTUS and his spawn must know they cannot sit on them all - though it won’t stop them trying to.

So far as the POTUS himself is concerned it is the job of the US Congress to pursue all those matters that are not going to be pursued by or with the enthusiastic support of the AG. The House of Representatives has the constitutional authority and the means to do that. The House, and its committees, need to proceed patiently, systematically, intelligently and thoroughly - and I get the impression that they are keenly aware of that and that there is a determination to do what is required to defend and protect the constitution of the United States…

Keep pulling the threads - we know that they lead to some very disturbing and constitutionally and politically significant places.

I’m not making any bets on Burr’s sincerity, and he certainly could be working behind the scenes to undermine or block the report. However, this public statement from him is better than the statement from a republican House rep who basically said, “All good, no need to release the report” on NPR this morning.
