Discussion: Senate GOPers Weighing Bills That Both Parties Might Accept

Discussion for article #229616

So, Senate Republicans are considering doing the job they were elected to do?
That’s a radical proposition, and I don’t see it happening anytime soon.

Just more last minute campaigning (aka LYING).

As long as there is a black man in the WH, Republicants will NEVER do or agree to do anything he likes or suggests. They will NEVER agree on anything liked, proposed or suggested by others (non-extreme right-wingers).

Okay, so lowering the corporate tax rate, with no mention of closing any loop holes, meaning starving the country of more revenues, approving the KXL, which most Americans do not want, and pas legislation to fast track more horrendous trade deals to screw the middle class and working poor. Yeah I see how they are going to do nothing more than what is typical of them when in power, SCREW US!!!

As for Graham, bless her little heart, you all had chances to do all of those things and join with the Dems in doing that for the past 6 years, SO WHY NOW??? Wake up people, this is all just typical right wing bullshit before an election, that will never happen. Remember that crap about “being focused in on jobs like a laser” total crap in 2010? Yeah right! All of us Dems have to spend the next two years watching them, and endlessly letting our Dem Senators and this President know, that we expect them to pay back the favors they paid our party and President for the last 6 years, and to JUST SAY NO!!!

Oh they may pass all kinds of legislation, but it will be what my Rep. Emanuel Cleaver called one of their pieces of legislation in the House, Satan’s Sandwich.

What is disgusting about this is that these bills have been proposed before, and were turned down by the House.

If the House accepts these proposals now solely because they Republicans control the Senate then EVERY SINGLE NO LABELS “MODERATE” THEY-ALL-DO-IT talking head out there needs to apologize and admit that GOP obstruction was the problem, not Democrats.

I actually believe that Ron Portman, Richard Burr, and Bob Corker would like to develop some sort of bipartisan program to get useful legislation passed. One wonders where they were during the last 4 years…and what makes them think that there’s a majority on the GOP side for ANY bill that has a democrat priority in it.

The GOP may well take the Senate on Tuesday, but they won’t do anything with it…they could…as this article points out, but they won’t, because dogmatic purity requires it.
