In other words, there is no chance of a bill being crafted that can pass both the House and Senate. I would like for Lamar Alexander to explain exactly what it is in the AHCA that qualifies as a “good” idea that is worth “borrowing”? (Senator Alexander, where I come from that is called plagiarism.) It’s no surprise that Alberta Ted Cruz thinks the bill needs to be made worse, too.
I think that if the senate bill throws at least 10 million people out of their insurance coverage the house will pretend to hold their noses and vote for it.
So, we decided to not think about the House bill, or Pres. Obama, or anything else to bias us with coming up with a strong, conservative bill that the Senate could get behind. When we were done, we realized that we had the Affordable Care Act.

For years I have thought that women should get together to march on Washington, D.C. for reproductive rights. And we could all march bare-chested. It would be scandalous. Police wouldn’t know what to do. The old white conservative guys would be angry. It certainly would make a statement, loud and clear. My friends agree with me. Just a thought.

Let us not forget that while the Senators fiddle and dither over what to add, replace, and cut from their Repeal Bill Tom (I know the cost of everything but not the) Price is still the head of HHS. He’s got his anti-contraceptive gal by his side and they can screw so many people while we wait.

That is my take too. It is a classic catch 22 and it could fail in the Senate before it even gets to the house. Cruz,Lee and Paul are as nuts as the freedumb caucus and could jam up the works. As to what is good in the house bill that the senate will replicate as one poster wrote last week that means the senate will write the bill in English. Everything else is going into the circular file.
I doubt it. The Senate will write the bill in a dialect called Legislatoenglish. It will be filled with references to previous laws, regulations and maybe even court decisions that are modified, but the references and the changes made to those references won’t be included.
Kabuki or obscure dadaist performance art? The ACA is already the conservative minimum tool to achieving a semblance of universal health care.
I wish every description of this bill started off with “this bill cuts taxes for the wealthiest taxpayers while eliminating $800 billion from Medicaid funding, yadda yadda, …”
Strip out all the bullshit from those Senators’ remarks and it boils down to, “We got nothin’”
They are back to square 1, which they never left in the first place, and have no idea which way to turn.
