Hmm they let the process go forward even if they didn’t get thier concerns addressed, with a promise from Trump?

They haven’t learned or it is all BS.5

I told Patty Murray that all her work would become a fig leaf for Republicans to do their worst.

But I don’t know if she was listening, because I’ve never heard back from her staff when I write to her.

She’s great at sending those emails for money, though.

they’ll blame obama/democratic tax and spend when eventually the stock market crashes and the debt balloons…

Trump will promise anything but like most of his promises he can’t deliver. And most of these promises cost money which makes things worse.

Democrats should vote no on everything if this monstrosity of a tax bill gets passed.

Without the mandate the entire premise of the ACA is destroyed. Fuck Collins to death (along with any other pieces of shit supporting this travesty).

For as long as we have a GOP majority we do not live in a democracy. React accordingly.

So it looks like Collins et al. are willing to buy a used car based on sketchy promises from a carnival barker and his henchmen.

If I were a blue state resident, I would vote against hurricane aid, farm bills, anything rural, etc. Especially Maine.

I don’t know how they get to yes with a promise from Trump to support their proposed changes. His promises are worthless. He has no loyalty to any of them.He knows little to nothing about the details and moving parts. He just wants a win and does not care who gets hurt. If the thing passes, he takes the credit. If it fails, they take the blame. His hands are always clean.

Are we shocked?

All together now: NO! NO! NO!

It is possible this isn’t quite as bad as it looks. Collins, e.g. is accepting reassurances to get her vote to move this out of committee. But does that translate to ultimately being a yes on the ill? Look at what she said earlier: https://twitter.com/ThePlumLineGS/status/935571581069381632/photo/1 If the Senate really has to pass Alexander–Murray and a further bill protecting pre-existing conditions for her vote she will end up being a no. Just two more on top of that and it’s toast.

Paul Krugman’s columns since tax reform was proposed and details leaked on the planned legislation have been those of a man nearly panicked by the insanity and danger of what the GOP is about to do. That and the manifest unfairness of the income redistribution that will result. He struggles to find a fellow economist not similarly alarmed.

Republicans really do suck.

I know, right ? They actually believe a promise from a serial lying cheat ? Crazy.

sounding more like yes votes after Trump promised many of them he’d back the various policy changes they want to see in the bill.

Dumb. Asses.
