Get used to it America. In Michigan we’re all used to the AMerican WAY.

They’re real familiar with this American Way in Moscow, too.

The criminals keep coming and the crimes keep piling up. And all before it’s even official.

But again, this is a messaging fail. Why? Because this isn’t the issue and comes across as a politicized, partisan collateral attack, particularly since I think they might be right that Citizens United sort of fucked this up, not to mention that she is, fair or not, dirty or not, using bankruptcy nefariously or not, likely shielded by the corporate veil anyway.

The fucking message is that she’s a whackadoo ideologue anti-public-education nutjob…and you build the fucking case for that by repeatedly publicizing the things she has said and done in her activist quest to destroy the public schools in favor of voucher programs that can be used to herd students towards private conservative Christian schools where she hopes a new generation of conservative voters can be indoctrinated with overtly Christianized, anti-science, historical rewrite propaganda. She wants a the next generation to think “separation of church and state” is a myth and that your weather man being wrong on Tuesday proves that climate change science is voodoo…and she’s leading the charge in their re-education cavalry.

The whole $5M in fines thing smacks of some dipshit out-of-touch Dem twit sitting around in trying to think up a way to undermine her and landing on this collateral attack nonsense that is, in essence, just a distraction from the real issue.

And what rankles the most: it also serves as a way for Dems to avoid standing up for what we want them to stand up for. Rather than take the fight to the issue and stand up for our beliefs and principles, they’re throwing a distraction argument at the wall to see if it sticks. Fuck them.

This is why we fail. Learn it.

“We sent it over to the attorney general’s office, and it’s been there where they’ve been working at it at various times. But essentially it’s like trying to get blood out of a turnip.”

What? We’re talking about Betsy DeVos.

When people say that you can’t squeeze blood out of a turnip, it means that you cannot get something from a person, especially money, that they don’t have.

What does this have to do with her?

Why do I have to keep reading surrender comments from people here?

Why?

Forget about it, cowards.

Or, perhaps our new President could make DeVos the first pardon of his Presidency.

The Ohio Elections Commission has gone after the record-breaking fine for years, to little avail.

This is America’s opportunity to hold Trump’s billionaire scofflaw accountable for the actions of her little PAC. It isn’t like she can’t pay it out of petty cash.

I don’t really agree with this. The fact that she’s a whackadoo ideologue anti-public-education nutjob is a message that only resonates with people who are already with us. The ones who aren’t are the “well, Everybody Knows what we’re doing now Isn’t Working, so why not try something radical? [racist subtext subvocalized here]” types.

Lawbreaking billionaire scamming the system to avoid punishment may well resonate with those people in a way a “partisan” charge of whackdoodlry won’t. And if she says “but Citizens United!” a) she’s explaining, and therefore losing and b) yes, by all means tell us how your corruption is justified by Citizens United, oh denizen of the swamp sure to be drained any second now.

Good point. Democrats really need to stand for America and American values. This billionaire ideologue doesn’t.

That technique worked really well to keep Trump away from the White House, didn’t it?

For the few posters who keep claiming it was a populist movement that elected Trump. I give you this:

“Democratic senators have called on President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Education, Betsy DeVos, to pay more than $5 million in fines.”
