Let’s not forget Betsy’s ethics challenged bro, Blackwater’s Erik Prince. The swamp doth overflow in that family.

Don’t believe this lie for a minute! What really happened I’ll venture is a.) she and her husband have balked at providing the needed documents b.) she and hubby may be re-thinking the nomination in line with who needs this headache of financial disclosure.

“Who benefits” (from the old Latin line “cui bono”) fits here as they may have finally realized they stand to lose more than gain from her nomination. Bet the Trump team told her not to worry over the ethics issue (note: last week’s failed attempt to weaken the ethics committee) but some pubbie Senators told her different behind closed doors. We’ll soon see if I am right.

@machoneman You’re likely correct on this. And then, there’s all that bothersome work of actually attempting to run a large organization.

Privatizing our schools has crippled some factions of students and educators…Amway Devos is for that and her brother is the ’ Blackwater’ Prince…Not a good family at all…

Stop the grift of the drumpf nominees…Crooks just like him!

It’s only a rumor, but I heard she and Benedict Conway share broom sticks.

Teacher: “No, Betsy. You need to turn in your ethics homework before I give you a grade or promote you.”
Betsy: "But, I’m rich. That rule shouldn’t apply to me. Anyway, no matter what I turn in, you need to give me an ‘A’.
Teacher: “Of course I will, dear.”

Betsy DeVos’s plan for staffing her beloved charter schools:

  1. Hire a principal whose only teaching experience is two years of Teach for America experience.
  2. That principal hires five TFA teachers.
  3. Those five TFA teachers each must find five more TFA teachers.
  4. Those 25 TFAers each must find five more TFA alums.
  5. The teacher whose search garners the most actual hires becomes assistant principal.

From your mouth to Betsy DeVos’ ears.

Or the fraud lawsuit the DeVos family had to settle for $150 million due to the predatory “multi-level marketing” company Amway.

Yes, and the DeVos family’s successful attempts to privatize much of the Michigan public school system has had devastating effects.

They have to wait till Trump is president so he can pardon all his nominees.

Wait, you mean they are trying to help Betsy DeVos respond to questions about how her defunct All Children Matter organization owes Ohio a $5.3 million fine?

The Ohio Elections Commission and the courts found that the federal and Ohio All Children Matter PACs violated Ohio campaign laws for money laundering.

Maybe she can be a success in teaching children how to violate the law and not pay for it?

This exactly. Many of these billionaire barons have a lot to lose by going through this process. Even if they come out on the other side, they will soon learn that Washington is a city of regulations and statutes, and you can’t just do whatever the fuck you want with the taxpayer’s money. The rules are very different. I can’t wait to watch them figure this out. They act like they are being invited to the rich kid’s 9th birthday party with the clowns, skating rink, and ice cream statues.

WHOA! I’m with @katscherger - that letter is a bombshell and it would seem that DeVos either puts up or stands down. My money’s on the latter.

Too bad TPM isn’t digging deep enough in its reporting - this link should be part of the main story.

Yeah, if this letter is any indication of things to come, there is going to be a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.
