My mom used to have all kinds of explanations like this when she didn’t want to do a thing. She always told my dad that she didn’t want to lend him her car because cars prefer to be driven by only one person, it’s better for them mechanically that way. My neighbors signed up for “green” electricity from a local provider. They thought all their electricty came from renewable sources. They were surprised when I explained to them that everyone in town is getting the same percentage of green energy regardless if they signed up. We live about 15 miles from a nuclear power station.
