No. He’s obviously incapable of being embarrassed or humiliated. I am sure more stuff will come out, but he knows he is safely ensconced on the High Court for life, unless the Democrats ever have a House majority AND 67 Senate seats.
I think American democracy officially died this afternoon. The right wing takeover of all three branches of government is now complete, and Trump has brought them all in toadying deference to him.
Now, we have to fight to resurrect it…

Just more fuel for the midterm fire that is raging in Democrats and other sane Americans. We have to take Congress back - then we can control our situation. Bad SCOTUS decisions can be legislated around. We could legislate a permanent right for every American woman to have privacy in her own body.

I sure hope that on the way to the SC building, Kavanaugh isn’t cut off in traffic. He’ll be primed to screw some poor litigant.
This is going to sound so cheesy, but it feels distinctly like being in the middle of one of the Star Wars movies (the first ones to come out), where a rebel base gets destroyed and the rebels just move everything somewhere else to keep fighting.
There’s never a moment of question that they might stop fighting.
They just pick up and get themselves situated as quickly as possible to start fighting again from the best position possible.
We need to be up and fighting right now.

Just slightly. Nothing strikes me as particularly funny right now. There go protections against eliminating pre-existing conditions under the ACA. There goes reproductive rights, worker’s rights, gay rights, immigrant rights, voting rights, environmental protections, getting rid of dark money in politics, gun safety rights, getting rid of corporate personhood, and anything that has to do with equal justice under law. Just ain’t gonna happen.
Fuck this shit. For those of you familiar…Its like Tisha B’Av but in an American sorta way, with the intentional destruction of our last institution of democracy.

I just signed on as a poll worker, fwiw… and canvassing for the blue team, knocking on doors. I’m in a very red state (Idaho), but my local district reps are mostly Democrats. Boise is kind of a liberal enclave in an otherwise very red neck of the woods…
