Discussion: Senate Confirms Deputy WH Chief Of Staff Kirstjen Nielsen To Lead DHS

Fuck whichever Dems voted to allow this. They should be blocking everything and all things at this point. Period.

NO QUARTER. NO MERCY.

Gawd. What is she going to do to destroy the DHS and make the country “unsafe” and vulnerable.
John Kelly’s “assistant” - really?
We all have seen that Kelly is dishonest and dishonorable.
What is his “assistant” going to do to us!!!

The 10 Democrats supporting her were Sens. Tom Carper and Chris Coons of Delaware, Joe Donnelly of Indiana, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Claire McCaskill of Missouri, Bill Nelson of Florida, Jack Reed of Rhode Island, Jon Tester of Montana, and Mark Warner of Virginia. Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, also voted for Nielsen, along with 51 Republicans.

Is Mark Warner just trying to seem “neutral” so that when the Trump Senate investigation bombshell is released, he seems sorta non-partisan? If that’s not it, I don’t know what he’s doing…

Being Mark Warner, Mr. Centrist. It’s in his lukewarm blood.

Trump administration is revising its climate models

Ah, yes, the trump administration’s climate models. No doubt that they’re just as accurate - and extant - as the treasury department’s review of the GOP tax plan.

Don’t be mean, Ivanka has been working very hard on hiring climate models, using her contacts in the fashion industry.

She also condemned white nationalism, rejected Islamophobia and promised to make cybersecurity a top priority.

She’s a Trump appointee which means she’s automatically suspect and given Kelly’s tenure at DHS, even more so. While the line above is good to hear, there’s a long list of Trump administration heads (and subordinates) boldly lying to Congress, the Press and the public. She’s going to need to do a flawlessly stellar job to avoid ruining the rest of her career assuming she can escape a prison sentence alongside the rest of the criminals that set up shop in the white house.

Coons and King are the only surprises by me. Don’t recall much about Carper, but the others are all red-state moderate/conservative Dems.

Thanks for the list.

ETA OK, VA is trending blue, but Warner is still somewhat conservative. I may have overlooked others, as I’ve fallen way behind in catching up here. Open to correction.

Love your screen name. I was going to ask whether you specialize in one-liners, but this post has answered that in the affirmative.

Isn’t Kirstjen Nielsen the official in the Bush White House who was responsible for coordinating emergency responses and she’s the one who got the call that the levees in New Orleans had breached and took no action. Her ineptitude and incompetence cost thousands of lives.
