Nothing like losing a fight by fleeing the field…
Thanks, Brian & Steve.
Doesn’t he know that all he has to do is repent, apologize to God, his voters, and his family, and carry on the corruption?
Works for GOPers.
The saddest part isn’t that he did what Rand Paul did, but that the voters would condemn him for it while Paul just shrugs and runs for president.
Well maybe what is worse is that the Democratic party feels itself so bankrupt that they don’t have anyone else to replace him. Is it really possible this was the only Democrat in Montana to run for this office. They should check out their college students or young people I am sure there are many that could run circles around the Republicans without out pulling any muscles. We don’t need politicians we need honest, logical and thinkers in office and we are looking in the wrong places.
I keep hearing that the republicons will keep the house and may take over the senate…HOW they have done everything to screw this country for the last 15 yrs…and the dems cant fight against what they have done??? it just depresses me that the dems cant fight harder than this all the crap republicons have done against our nation and the dems will lay down and fold up and go away …all I can say is the people who run the campainges are useless …but if WE get our asses our off our couches register with everyone we can find and VOTE…cause dont whine about the problems if your not gonna be part of the solution
These two things are not remotely the same. Everyone knows that politician’s speeches are not usually written by politicians themselves, so plagiarizing part of a speech is silly, but hardly fatal.
Plagiarizing your thesis for a university degree is THE capital offense in academia. Once found out, you loose your title, your reputation, and probably you job. There is no way that Sen. Walsh could have survived this.
Second disagreement: of course we need politicians for politics. Politics is complicated, just like heart surgery. I prefer to be operated on by a heart surgeon and governed by politicians, not the other way around.
I suspect you could say that all political speeches are plagiarized to some degree since they all say the same thing over and over again, whether it is the truth or not.
I am defining “politician” as someone who is not remotely related to an educated, well read, understands history, has read the entire constitution and who wants to work for the public and the good of all people, not just a few who pay him or his campaign. We don’t need career hand shakers and bland speakers who have no intention of meeting the demands and the descriptions of their jobs. We currently have a “brain surgeon” running for Senate in Oregon, the fact that she finds nothing to disagree with the GOP platform and the Koch brothers are spending millions for ads for her would certainly place her in the politician for hire roll and I wouldn’t want her to do brain surgery on me either. I personally don’t think people become politicians until they stop thinking of American people and only think of themselves and how “important” they are.
