If he really wants to stay nominated, the judge had better quit clowning around and start making glowing presentations about how truly eye-poppigly wonderful are Ivanka’s goods! Sasse said that Gorsuch’s comments and understanding of the separation of powers are reason to support his nomination for the high court.
If that’s an accurate representation of Sasse’s comments it sets a remarkably low bar for a Supreme Court Justice. An understanding of the separation of powers shows nothing more than a grasp of the basics in any Civics 101 course. It’s disheartening and demoralizing that Sasse cannot make the same comment about the organism in the White House.

I think Dems are in a stronger position on this than you do. The Blumenthal comments have been confirmed of the record by the White House. Are Stasse’s statement far behind?
But the account was readily confirmed on the record by a White House adviser, Ron Bonjean, working to advance the Gorsuch confirmation.
NYT, WaPo and others all have this confirmation in their stories.

Right now this Judge is setting himself up to be a hero. He is young and even if he is “Fired” he will be in the short list if Pence or another Republican President gets to name one.

No he’s not going to be fired for following the script. The main objection of Dems was going to be that Gorsuch could not be independent of bannon/trumps influence so we see this kabuki theatre where he goes just so far in disagreeing with trumps insults towards judges. The idea that he would disagree with anything that trump has bellowed is proof in Sasse’s mind that he could/would be an independent justice. It’s bullshit just like Murkowski and Collins voting against DeVoss while allowing her to get out of committee to begin with and setting the stage for what they knew would be a confirmation with Pence’s tie breaking vote. One or two statements that seem to distance himself from trump do not negate the body of Gorsuch’s judicial history that puts him to the right of Scalia. It’s just more damned theatre folks and Sasse is the days major player on the stage.
