Why exactly would having terrorists in prison be bad? There are many terrorists of various stripes in US prisons. Not a single one has escaped.

Wha? You want to keep suspected terrorists out of Kansas prisons because…? Kansas prisons are inferior? incapable? The suspected terrorists have ebola? cooties?

Being a Republican must be a lot like being Robin in the tent in Blair Witch Project, except all the time. The psychic toll of living in a constant state of terror over bizarre things must be horrendous, and yet, they seem to enjoy it the way mainlining junkies enjoy smack.

Considering most terrorists in the US are right-wing nutters mis-interpreting their 2nd amendment rights, yes, it’s possible terrorists could end up in prison in Kansas, exactly where they should be.

Orman has run a very good campaign, while Roberts has run a very desperate sounding campaign. Even though this is just scare mongering to win at it’s finest, I must ask why we have tax payer funded federal prisons, if they are not good enough and secure enough to house those now at Gitmo?

Why hasn’t President Obama put Sen. Roberts in Fort Leavenworth as a suspected terrorist. He is a MUCH bigger threat to the safety and welfare of the people of the USA than ANY “terrorist” in Gitmo.
Anyone convicted of a Federal crime and sentenced to a prison term could end up an any Federal prison. What’s his point? For the most part the guys at Gitmo would be at a complete loss if they did manage to escape since they generally don’t speak English, have no immediate friends or family in the US, and have no inherent support network here either.
Personally I’d like to see them tried, and if convicted, sentenced to prison just like any other criminal. At Gitmo they’re held without a trial, and often without even having been formally charged. What kind of justice is that? It tells the whole world we don’t really care about Justice, of course, Bush and Cheney thought it was just fine.

They truly believe in stupid. It has gotten many a lot further than they ever expected. Impossible now to throw away their investment.
When you think about it, what Roberts said is incredibly denigrating to a lot of professional Kansans.
