Discussion: Sen. Roberts Beats Tea Party Primary Challenger Who Is Obama's Distant Cousin

Discussion for article #226014

Interesting thing is, neither Wolf nor Roberts once mentioned his relation to Obama in any of the political commercials.

None, nada, zip.

Edit: I think the thing that did Wolf in was the never ending ad which screamed that Wolf was being investigated by the Kansas medical board for poking fun at dead patients and sharing grisly pictures on facebook. Funny how that happened several years ago and the investigation just started within the last few weeks…

Glad we don’t have to see that wolfy mug under the way too bright lights again.

If the Tea Party is it’s own Party, why are they running in primaries with Republicans?
What is the specific distiction between them and non-teabaggingParty Republicans?

He is the second cousin of Obama’s mother. How is that “distant”. Is everything other than first cousinship distant?

In Kansas, when you’re related to a black man it’s pretty much distant regardless.

Family trees aside, this is a race that could go our way this November. Thanks to Brownback Mountain’s disastrous tax policies, hardliners like Roberts (who is inordinately out of touch with his constituents) are not in good smell. Throw in the possibility of a TP challenger (which is ALWAYS a possibility nowadays), and the GOPher vote just might get split enough for a Dem to take this seat back.

I didn’t know Wolf was related to Obama until I read this story. It simply wasn’t mentioned by the media in Kansas City.

It’s possible.

Greg Orman is running as an Independent and could peel votes away from Roberts, and he seems to be fairly Conservative, so anything could happen.

The known known is that the president’s mother as well as her parents were born in Kansas. But so was Dorothy Gale. To the writer of this inane headline: What of it?

“Wolf, a distant cousin of President Barack Obama and a radiologist, posted graphic images of deceased patients on his Facebook. Wolf later said he did that as a way of coping with the tragedy he saw as a doctor.”

You gotta love it.

Heck, Toto was born in Kansas, too!

I guess it wasn’t much of a debate.

This is no victory; Robert’s past positions are nearly identical with the challenger.

HEY MILT! Some democrats voted! Some of them may have been black! Keep up the fight!

Orman has been running harder than the Democrats. I don’t even know who Robert’s democratic challenger is and I live in the Kansas City media market. Orman has been running some pretty good and positive ads. He is the guy who might give Roberts a run.

And smarter than either Wolf or Roberts.

This is a convoluted story. Obama’s cousin lost, in Kansas, and is a teabagger.
Kansas is in trouble and so are Kansas Republicans. A Democrat could pull off a win.
Throw in a few midgets, a fire truck and a hooker and then we’d be having things.
