Discussion: Sen. Johnson: Gyrocopter A Reminder That 'Risk To America' Is 'Ever Present'

Discussion for article #235359

Let me see…he was flying a gyrocopter…which means he was flying well below the radar…which means that unless people looked up at the noise, which probably got drowned out thanks to DC traffic, they didn’t see him until he landed.

$10 says the results of his investigation will conclude that IT IS ALL OBAMA’S FAULT!!!

Interesting. Does this mean that Doug Hughes now qualifies as one of Ron Johnson’s patented “Victims of Government”?

At least this is more productive than trying to sue the government for daring to offer health insurance benefits to Ron Johnson’s government employees. Wisconsin is in such great hands!

(Help us Tammy Baldwin, you’re our only hope.)

What he calls a “risk to America” is the prospect of genuine campaign finance reform.

While Mr. Hughes’ guilt or innocence must still be determined by the
courts, the apparent details serve as a reminder that the risk to
America and Americans is ever present.

From untrammeled proliferation of hand guns and semiautomatic rifles and self serving politicians like you who couldn’t find their ass with a flashlight in each hand. Gyrocopters…not so much.

Sooooo, will he be sending subpoenas to the WH this week or next? Because thanks, Obama.

I disagree…he can’t find his backside with both hands, a guide, a compass, a map, clearly designated trails, and a big old searchlight saying “HERE IT IS!”

If there’s one legislator I’m absolutely confident has the intellectual tools and the genuine interest in identifying and solving problems to investigate this, it . . .

Nah, sorry. Couldn’t even say it for snark.

Ron Johnson is felony stupid.

He wouldn’t know shit if he ate it.

Agree, less than 500 lbs, almost no radar signature even if he was not flying below radar level and this douche wants to spend how many millions investigating. Of course you can place a bet the committee will be stacked with just a bright REPUG politicians looking to place all blame on Obama and we can’t forget it was Hill’s fault.

Well, I have full faith that the bloviating and fear-mongering over the obviously massive risk posed by gyrocopters will result in a large pile of money being thrown at some new gadgets to make us safer. Oh, and if they could wiretap everyone, that’d also make us safer. Don’t forget, Be Afraid!

Yep. It’s actually one of those cases where the answer is incredibly simple. I really wish that Democrats would go on the offensive and hit the Republicans over how they aren’t really fiscal conservatives due to how much money they’ve spent “investigating” various things.

I wonder if Fox will televise the hearings . . .

A flying bicycle with what looks like a small wind turbine on it. The only thing that could have made it scarier to Republicans would be to power it with solar energy and put Hillary Clinton in the pilot’s seat.

$10 says the results of his investigation will conclude that IT IS ALL OBAMA’S FAULT!!!

… and $100 says his investigation will begin with - IT IS ALL OBAMA’S FAULT!!!

While Mr. Hughes’ guilt or innocence must still be determined by the courts, the apparent details serve as a reminder that the risk to America and Americans is ever present."

I believe that was the exact message that Mr. Hughes was delivering to Congress, Senator.

I am investigating this incident and I am requesting a full accounting
by all federal organizations entrusted with securing the United States
from this and similar events.

translation - I am “investigating” this opportunity to obfuscate the fact that Republicans can’t govern.
