Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) praised McCain for being a âwar heroâ who âshould be treated as suchâ and suggested that the remark should get brought up at Republicansâ luncheon with Trump on Tuesday.
Oh yes, that will happen. When you look up the word âcourageâ in the dictionary, pictures of GOP Senators are right alongside it.
I counted three GOP senators. Then I counted again and it was still three. Once, a long time ago, when I was half my present age, I heard a committeeperson praise a letter the group had written to some higher-ups to protest some situation. She said it struck just the right toneââhesitant, but firm.â Havenât thought about that one in a long, long time. It was funnier then. : (
Sen. GOP Berate Trump Admin For No Apology Over McCain âDyingâ Remark
As if it makes a whit of difference to the Mal-Administration
At least you can say âNow we feel betterâ.
Never mind the the million and one things Trump has done to seriously impair democracy and international relations .
Donât we have a recess coming up soon?
Only took a couple of these assholes to get up the gumption to say somethingâŚ5 or 6 days too late and only because this hasnât passed from the news cycle because of the shame of not issuing a real apology and fire that staffer from her job. These Senators are spineless idiots. Were they too busy the day the news came out about this to make some sort of statement last week when it happened? Lack of empathy epitomizes the entire GOP.
Swoon! So brave! Where do these distinguished lawmakers find the fortitude to stand up to the Twitter bully?
Nothing is going to happen in the Senate until 2019 and many of them will be gone anyway. Trump can afford to piss on them. It will teach all of them a lesson. Trump is king and he just allows them to prance around. /s
And for their next trickâŚRepublican Senators will continue to let DHS rip babies and toddlers from their parents, reduce SNAP coverage, and let this WH create work requirements for Medicaid in the states for urban dwellers (primarily black constituents that vote reliably for Democrats) while letting rural voters who they believe will vote for them, off the hook. As for farmers, the technology sector and the automotive industryâŚshame what will happen with the new trade imbalance tRump just created with the unintended consequences of his trade war. But oh hell, enjoy your tax breaks Senators on your real estate holdings, elimination of the estate tax and your stock portfolios. That extra $10 a week in some folks paychecks was well worth it, amiright? I dare you to try running for office on that shit. The lies youâll have to tell to get you past that monumentally stupid move, will bankrupt the country, even for your own grandchildren when the time comes.
Stupid Republicans - still donât get it - they were excited about Trump - he could lead their team to victory - he could be one of them - yeah he is rambunctious & unpredictable - but they thought he would have some lines he would not cross -
They still donât get it - donât understand that ultimately Trump has zero allegiance - zero respect for anyoneâŚ
and he never makes a genuine apology - he sees an apology as a sign of weakness - an admission of fault - and he NEVER sees anything as his fault.
Deplorable, even by GOP standards!
Trump is a two year old that carries grudges FOREVER and the Senate coddles him. âBring it up at luncheonâ??? WTF? TELL HIM that he is silly and that this is self inflicted. You ARE the third branch you fools.
I pay attention to words and word choices in writing. The word âberateâ seems well off here. Based on the quotes, âExpressed mild annoyanceâ would seem to be a better headline choice. Sigh.
Thank you for watching this latest episode of âProfiles in Courageâ
Oh no, they wouldnât dare do that! Theyâre going to timidly advance a few ambiguous remarks to the press to get a headline or two, but when theyâre face to face with the fat orange menace at their Republican luncheon, nary a word will be spoken about it. Instead, trump will force another on-camera round of obsequious butt-kissing and they will all chime in, one more effusive than the next.
Cowards and phonies.
Trumpâs reply to those criticizing the "McCain dying remark will most likely be consistent with his earlier remarks about liking people who donât get caught. He likes people who donât die.
Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) chided the administration for not having the âcommon decencyâ to apologize over the remarkâŚ
I guess that that âcommonâ decency of which he speaks isnât very common after all.
I sense a âstrongly-worded letterâ on the way.
