Discussion: Sen. Angus King: We Are Getting Closer To The Possibility Of Impeaching Trump

“If these allegations, Senator, are true, are we getting closer to the possibility of yet another impeachment process?” Wolf Blitzer asked.

“Reluctantly, Wolf, I have to say yes, simply because obstruction of justice is such a serious offense,” King said.

Well allrighty then!

And in other news of the day

NASA spacecraft makes movie of dwarf planet Ceres

Seems like the perfect place to exile a serial lying buffon wih teensy tiny hands.

It’s a shitshow, Senator, and it gets worse every day. The country is without effective leadership. How long can we survive this way?

And also, if the White House has been saying all day that this never happened, then I think they should come forth with whatever evidence that they have, whether it’s tapes or notes made by someone at the White House to contradict this.

I’ll be shocked, shocked, if the White House manages to dummy up some utterly unconvincing “evidence.”

Impeachment would be nice, but I’d like to see prison.

Another part of me, however, would like to see the Republicans in Congress stuck with this clown until November of next year. They can answer for him then.

If there’s going to be an impeachment, I imagine it’s a process that would take several months, as I don’t think Trump would resign.

If so, Republicans better start the process now lest it hover over the midterms.

Of course, if allegations are correct, there may be criminal charges to follow.

My opinion is more damage can be done with Pence as president & the Republican Congress

Tough call. Internationally, Trump is more dangerous. Domestically, Pence and the Congress are the threat. I think it boils down to which danger will more easily be undone later.

For starters, Elaine Chao should resign her cabinet position.
Obviously, it was offered to her to neuter Mitch McConnell - as if he needed it.
The Democrats must raise holy hell -
because that’s what is called for in this instance.
If Ms. Chao doesn’t recognize how she has been played, she is an idiot.
Is she his “beard”? I don’t know… but she has been played for a fool in all of this.
Stand up, Ms. Chao!
Mitch is no idiot, but he is nonetheless neutered
by the Trump “machine”.
Mitch, do you really want to be defined by this?
Pathetic…sad, really.

Yea, whether we can get on with our lives, or our half-lives.

Agreed, with one exception - nuclear war. Pence is far less likely to take us down that road.

Gawd Almighty, dealing with a chaotic, drama fed President is heavy shit! Impeach! Now! You Repubs on the bench, rise up or forever rue the day!!

Pence may not have clean hands in all this either.

smh

k

I agree, “President Pence” scares me. Then again, it’s not like impeachment is a quick process. It could easily tie Congress in knots until the mid-terms. That might be the best-possible scenario.

Would he try to balls it thru? I’m hoping the humiliation would cause him to bail, but gotta confess I just don’t know.

On the other, hand, MAYBE a bipartisan committee of Senators and Congress persons could visit him, urge him to cut the crap and quit. Tell this actor to quit.

Who knows? Da Shadow do.

he never would, but if Angus ran for president, I’d vote for him. If I could, I’d move to Maine to have him as my senator.
