That’s good news. I hope it’s not too late.

Indeed. He should have done this earlier and Cutler should have stepped aside instead of pulling the assish move he did earlier today but hopefully Angus’ message of “anybody but LePage” resonates with some voters.
/fingers crossed

Shouldn’t be too late. More people are paying attention to the race in the final week than previously.

But hey, thanks a bunch for being a total shithead on the first try, King.

In fairness, Cutler very nearly won in 2010, so the idea that he had a credible shot this time wasn’t ridiculous. Still, after 4 years of that wannabee fascist clown LePage, I’d have hoped people would rally to a single opponent.

King carries ALOT of weight with independent voters here in Maine. It’s all falling apart from Cutler now. I hope the damage isn’t already done.

Cutler’s bizarre presser this morning, along with his declining poll numbers, will tarnish his reputation even further. I’m curious to see how the state papers play his announcement from the press conference.

Another term for LePage would be a real disaster here.

King was massaging his “independent” bona fides, no more, no less.

At this point in the race in 2010, Libby Mitchell had completely fallen apart and Cutler’s numbers were climbing steeper each day. This very well may be payback for Mitchell not dropping out in 2010.

Well, that explains the bizarre press conference. Sounds to me like it was in response to King calling Cutler to tell him he was doing this.

I live in Maine --I’ve been a political reporter and political consultant here. I have the greatest respect for Angus King on all levels but I found his original endorsement of Cutler perplexing.

I figured it was just a bonding between unenrolled politicians. But in the end I strongly and publicly disagreed with him on this. Sadly, I fear this change of heart may be too little too late.

At the end of the day, this is an off year election and the people most likely to go to the polls are people more likely to vote for Paul LePage. His re-election would be a disaster for Maine.

I wish Angus had thought of that prior to a week before the election but I am delighted that he has come around to Mike’s camp. Hopefully it will swing enough persuadable voters to the Michaud column on Tuesday.

Integrity is not strong with that one.

There are a lot of people hurting in Maine after nearly four years of LePage. Not only did he refuse the additional Medicaid funding, but he had rules revised to make many low-income working people ineligible for the existing plan.

We need Mike!

They may now.

Who, King? If “integrity” means standing by a guy who’s going to get LaPage elected, then fuck integrity. That kind of integrity led to eight years of catastrophe in 2000.

This could well be enough to tip the scales in favor of Michaud. I sure hope so. The majority of Mainers don’t support LePage and his Tea Party dumbfuckery, and having him sneak in there again just because of divided opposition would be a tragedy.
