Discussion: Secret Service Says It Has ‘No Such Record’ Of 'Any Incident' With Jackson

So someone didn’t bother to make a report. Probably should have, but wouldn’t be the first time. Or, when it comes to embarrassing high White House staffers, the last. Too bad.

Notice how carefully their response is crafted. Saying that they “have no record” of the incident occuring is very, very different from saying that it didn’t happen.

“We have no record of such an incident occurring. But as far as the allegation of his prescribing drugs to staffers, we really can’t comment because we are soooooo fucking high!”

Bodyguards don’t keep written records of the principals’ bad acts. Duh.

Whatshisname Trump bodyguard didn’t write down “OH HERE COME THE RUSSIAN HOOKERS FOR THE PEE TAPES” in his diary, either.

So, the Secret Service support of Ronny Jackson is a variation of the old joke: "I heard someone say that you like to eat shit on toast. But I stuck up for you. I told them you didn’t like toast!"

And the Secret Service deserves to be considered credible why?

Whether or not he wrecked a car while drunk is not the issue. Should a shameless ass kisser who is utterly unqualified to be head of the VA be considered for the position?

That would be the same Secret Service that took prostitutes from a strip club back to their hotel rooms in Colombia. The one where two Drug Enforcement Administration agents arranged one encounter between a prostitute and a Secret Service officer. Seems like free drugs from Ronny would be a natural complement to their mission and fully support the praise of Jackson for his “dedicated support” of Secret Service agents over the years, “often miles from home and under difficult travel conditions.”

Given both the incredibly high stress that afflicts a secret service job like the president’s detail, and the long reputation of the secret service as hard-partying and a bit out of control, I wouldn’t be surprised if they tended to be prime beneficiaries of a laissez-faire medication policy.

Jayzus, despite surviving its own share of scandals, Trump is actually going to bring down the Secret Service.

he he …

The agency then praised Jackson for his “dedicated support”
of Secret Service agents over the years, “often miles from
home and under difficult travel conditions.”

Oh bull SHIT. A genuine rebuke from the Secret Service would not involve a check of paperwork. You don’t get to be attached to the president if you make a report about each little thing that happens–it’s the SECRET service, they protect the president, they don’t nickel and dime the president’s entourage with demerits and reports. If they wanted to rebuke the accusation they would say they INTERVIEWED the agents who were there and those agents have issued sworn statements that no such incident happened. It still wouldn’t necessarily be true, but it would be an actual rebuke. This is obvious bull shit to anyone familiar with institutional language.

“Often”? Every day I commute 32 “miles from home”, each way to do my job.
Where’s my commendation?

Well then, he need to be reinstated as a nominee immediately.

Besides, I think we all know the Secret Service likes booze and hookers on foreign travel, so this incident was probably one of their guys.

ETA: @coimmigrant said it better. (And first.)

“We have no record – we made sure it got shredded and all emails deleted long ago. Like, duh,”

My first thought? Secret Service is protecting itself and agents who have benefited from Jackson’s pill mill operation.

There is a long history of the SS covering for those they protect.

One, it’s just human nature to want to cover for people you like as anyone who has ever had a relationship with police will tell you.At the beginning of my career I was briefly a assistant prosecutor and enjoyed a protected relationship with law enforcement for many years following.

Two, and on a more practical level, it’s hard to protect people who are afraid being around you will get them in trouble. To be close to the POTUS and those inside the bubble, SS agents need to be discreet.

All this aside, I don’t know how they could cover up a damaged car.

It’s interesting that the Secret Service is commenting on this at all… Someone strong-arming them??
