Another trial balloon popped.

More of the people’s time wasted.

More nothing getting done.

Welcome to Trumpistan.

Another Christian martyr, held accountable for his bigotry and whining about it.

ā€œTragically, my life of public service and my Christian beliefs have been mischaracterized and attacked by a few on the other side of the aisle for political gain,ā€

Gee, what is it that redneck conservatives say under such circumstances?

Oh, yeah:

ā€œGET OVER IT SNOWFLAKE, CALL A WAAAAMBULANCE IF YOU CAN’T TAKE THE HEAT!!!ā€

I guess John McCain is now part of the ā€œliberal leftā€. But even putting Green’s views aside, he hardly seems qualified for the job.

Yes, who knew?

Wait, if I’m on the left side of the aisle and John McCain is on the other side of the aisle, is there a 3rd side of the aisle that’s now weighing in?

@radicalcentrist - I think it’s clear by now that being qualified for the job holds no import. It’s who you know and, most importantly, are you a slobbering sycophant and unquestioning loyalist.

On Monday, CNN surfaced a lecture Green gave in 2015, in which he said the theory of evolution violated the second law of thermodynamics and compared billions of years of evolution to leaving a lawnmower outdoors. ā€œIf you put a lawn mower out in your yard and a hundred years come back, it’s rusted and falling apart,ā€ he said. ā€œYou can’t put parts out there and a hundred years later it’s gonna come back together. That is a violation of a law of thermodynamics. A physical law that exists in the universe.ā€

Only the really really, great great, terrific people.

Trump seems to pick lots of people who refuse to go forward because it’s difficult.

How the fuck did these people ever accomplish anything? Or is accomplish too strong a word?

Man oh man, that ā€˜other side’ sure is a bunch of aholes, aren’t they? I guess making muslim slurs and disparaging LGBT people is just you making funnies, isn’t it?

The best part of that is the complete, utter misunderstanding of the term Physical Law. Creationists cite physics but think a good theory eventually graduates to become some sort of governing Physical Law and that laws trump theories.

Another cry baby Republican unwilling to take responsibility for his actions.

I always cry at those ceremonies.

His comments denote Christian beliefs? I am not an expert, but they don’t seem very aligned with what I understood to be Jesus’ teaching.

But martyrdom is hard.

ā€œTragically, my life of public service and my Christian beliefs have been mischaracterized and attacked by a few on the other side of the aisle for political gain,ā€ Mark Green said in a statement.

Let me guess - Due to your Christian beliefs, you insisted that our government care for the sick and the poor, and the Republicans told you to take a hike?

Or is it something else that you have simply mistaken as an attack on your Christian beliefs?

One of these days, America will at last be a place where self-professed Christians can be free to walk the streets among us.

For now, I guess they’ll have to remain in hiding.
