Did Cockholster cross the line with his pardon of “Sheriff Joe” Arapayaso? (For those who don’t get the joke: Are a payaso. Payaso is Spanish for “clown.” Sorry to belabor it.)

Is this the step towards fascism that “the people” will recognize? Or accept?

Understandable. The Arpaio pardon is a stain on this country in so many ways that it’s got to get good folks brooding. One aspect that has always struck me with Trump is how literally nothing else matters if you support and praise him. Nazi, KKK, racist, criminal, crazy person, foreign enemy, none of it matters. Praise Trump and you’re golden. Oppose him in any way, no matter how legitimate, and you’re bad. And it will always puzzle me on a certain level that anyone could fail to see how screwed up that is.

I do think since he entered the race, he’s changed politics and this country for the worse, this is yet another step in that direction. When his reign has ended, what our democracy (sorry, “Democratic Republic”), looks like, I have no idea.
