Way to go, Seattle Times! Proud of you!
Saw the scare teaser about this on an Ohio news commercial last night: “Are the Cleveland Indians next?”
I doubt it, but I certainly hope so.
My second comment about this: I really wish the trademark office would step up and do something about Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben and, most importantly, Bengay.
Oh Dear, Oh Dear. Whatever will they do about the Vancouver Canucks?
Considering recent history, maybe the Times should consider banning “Adderall” as well.

Shunning the name by the major sports media is more practical than expecting a widespread economic boycott of the team. If Washington DC/regional newspapers and TV/radio newsreaders were to join such a ban, it would encourage other local sports media around the country to follow suit. Daniel Snyder would have to worry then.
Were the national sports media outlets, particularly ESPN as the industry’s leader, to shun the name, the NFL itself would have to worry.
