Manafort was “released” from the Trump campaign because of Ukraine issues… of course early Ukraine issues had and were having inpact on the Trump campaign… of course Ukraine would have been a study area from the starting line… just delicious that the Russians were tinkering with those Ukraine issues… One timeline.

OT but still relevant: I love that every stock photo of Mueller (b/c the man never gives press conferences) shows the same two or three badass-looking guys in suits within about 8 feet of him. I’m glad those guys are on the case.
I’ve been wondering re the 3 piece suit guy that is ALL of those photos. Security detail or 2nd chair at the hearings where Mueller appears?

Manafort is now arguing the fruit of that search should be suppressed because the person who helped the FBI agent to unlock the storage unit and allowed the FBI agent enter it on May 26 was not authorized by Manafort to do so, even though that person (whose name is redacted in the filing) is listed on the unit’s lease. Manafort’s attorneys describe him as a former employee of Manafort’s, but the investigator’s affidavit says that he had left Manafort’s consulting firm to work for another business that Manafort operates.
So he tried hiding his stuff by storing them using a lease in then employee’s name and now he’s upset because that didn’t work? Huh.

Nah not really - it’s just an argument and the only one they have and they had to preserve error on this warrant in case something about it is worth appealing.
And nothing is from what I can tell. The person had the keys - that’s a fucking bailment and that gives them the authority not to mention the lease in that person’s name.
More to the point: what did they get on Manafort, and, as in Watergate: what did the president know and when did he know it?
Even his most ardent supporters will flee Trump if it is shown that Manafort was complicit with the Russians in trying to affect the outcome of the election, and that Trump knew about it and/or acted to cover it up.
For the good of the country, it’s time to let everyone see the evidence. Put it online for us to read and parse it.

Ah, thanks for that. I’ve always wondered what his role is – since we see him in every photo and often just him and Mueller. He’s the true Mystery Man!
I think you underestimate the power of the “cult of personality.” When someone buys into a person like Trump, they will abandon all prior convictions and follow their “leader” wherever he goes. So long as Trump remains friendly to Putin, his most fervid fans will happily ignore their previous, often well-documented, anti-Russian stances.
It’s already pretty clear from how several previously Russia-hawk Republicans have recanted and are now gung-ho pro-Putin guys. Trump has made it clear that Putin is a “good guy” and they have all bought the line in obeisance to Trump’s will.
