Unfortunately, the state of WVA last night really put the lie to the idea that Sanders is just SO appealing that he could beat Rump in the General.
This is what he’s come down to: being used by the opposition.

Anyone still question that Bernie Sanders won’t be pummeled in a general election scenario? The RWNJs haven’t even begun to throw nails at Sanders like they’ve been doing to Clinton over the last few decades. Sanders has been handled with kid gloves up to now for a reason, folks – they SO want a general election where Sanders is the Democratic nominee.

Only instead of the force and a lightsaber, he uses yelling, berating, browbeating, and finger-pointing.
That would have been a fun battle between him and Vader. Probably wouldn’t have lasted long though. The force and lightsaber are a tad bit stronger than yelling & finger-pointing. “The Emperor’s Establishment is stealing from the …aaaaargh!”

According to some exit polls, some Independents who voted in some open Democratic primaries have said they will be voting for Trump. So they really aren’t Sanders supporters.

Huh…well, I happen to believe it…at least to some extent, because yes, some perhaps small number of people are indeed that stupid and petulant. But Gerry, correlation does not mean causation.
Sanders and Trump have in common the perception that both are outsiders. This is a cross over view that could motivate some Sanders supporters to vote for Trump when Hillary is running against Trump. I say “could”, because to a large degree that Washington DC’s establishment is hated, by both Trump and Sanders supporters, even these 2 candidates are sort of opposite sides of the “fuck the establishment” coin. If a voter is simply wanting to express hatred for Washington, DC, I can understand voting for Trump instead of Hillary if a Sanders supporter. And, if a Sanders supporter has basically given up on saving the current regime’s system, then if Trump is elected is fine because the country is going down anyhow, just faster and more violently than likely under Hillary (hard to say about that really - depends on other outside factors too).
Remember, repubs want to run against Bernie. That’s why they aren’t attacking him now. They have a ton of stuff ready to go to destroy him.
If Sanders folks vote for Trump, they have no core progressive values. Many are just repubs.
I can just see Trump going after the “hip hop vote,” his Make America Great hat on sideways. “Yo yo yo, it’s going to be BEAUTIFUL, the rappers love me, let me tell you.”

Yep, I’m sure none of this stuff would be brought up by the right wing noise machine should Bernie get the nomination. No wonder the polls show him beating Trump right now.
It’s not indicative of Sanders’ strength but his massive weakness.
Sanders and his crew are being played big time and yet both are egotistical enough somehow believe they are “the future.”
There were reports that because the Republican nomination is sown up that a large number of Republicans voted for Bernie just to throw the election … not verified , but they would love to run against Bernie
