OK, so that makes sense. Some of these guys for whom 2016 was their last hurrah are sucking up to Trump in hopes of a VP pick or cabinet position. Those are the only career advancement options available to some of these clowns.

While my fantasy is for Trump to pick Palin, I think it’s more likely that he’ll pick somebody from the category you just described. Pence fits in that one, as do Mitch Daniels, Rick Santorum, Gingrich, Christie, and Fiorina.

I hope he doesn’t pick somebody like Tom Cotton, who would excite the militarist, bomb-Iran-now-to-fulfill-End Times-prophecy fundies bigtime. Cotton creeps me out every bit as much as Cruz does, if not more.

Think Cotton would go for it? He went a hilarious distance out of his way not to make a positive case for Trump just the other day. He’s a loon, but even a loon can see there’s no future getting Trump slime all over yourself.
