Discussion for article #232730
At this point in time, he holds the lead. However, leading early opens him up to increased scrutiny and I am hoping he doesnât hold up well. Check his comments today to foreign policy questions on ABC - he is a ânot ready for prime timeâ candidate.
Good, he wonât last long.
Fasten your seatbelts for the imminent âflame out.â
The previous two winners: 2012 - President Rick Santorum; 2008 - President Mike Huckabee.
Honestly there isnât a single GOP potential candidate that I wouldnât enjoy watching Hilary mop the floor with.
But this guy seems to be a particular lightweight.
Lookie here, itâs Michele Bachmann ⌠with a dick!
So true. Winning the Iowa GOP primary is the kiss of death.
âSurgeâ is very misleading. Both Rand Paul & Walker went up by 5% point and only one point separates them in a poll with a margin of error of +/- 4.9 % points.
Agreed, I would go further and add that there just isnât enough âitâ there in Walker for him to be an early leader. We have seen this tendency in the GOP beforeâŚthey focus on a flavor of the week/month and then go bored and drop them. This is far too early for Walker to be peaking.
However, I will add that he has been prepping for Iowa for quite some time, doing lots of under the radar visits and developing a surrogate network and he probably understands that Midwestern style of retail politics better than rest of the field.
But there is much more the the latest flavor happening right now as Romney bowed out, all the clucking heads are eager to jump on a replacement.
Finally, I would add that, of course these polls are so early as to be not worth much, they donât paint a particularly good picture for Jeb. It will be interesting to see how the Romney supports starts splitting up over the next few weeks/months.
And probably one of them is going to win this time, too. The evangelicals carry a lot of weight there.
He looks like heâs trying to conduct an orchestra. I can just hear it now: Its the Born Losers playing
the soulful sounds of âI canât get no fucking tractionâ.
Huh? What are you trying to make of this? Iowa borders on Wisconsin. Walkerâs name is well known there. Would you be surprised if a South Carolina poll put a Georgian or North Carolinian on top? Of course Walker did well there. His problem will be in about 45 other states.
As much as it would be completely wonderful, Scottie, it ainât gonna happen.
Trust the shit-kickers in Iowa to pick the biggest loser of the pack (after all, look at their record.)
ALL Scotty has is MONEY, MONEY, MONEY with the backing of the Koch Bros. machine.
Unfortunately for them, he is a fucking idiot and oozes slimy, incompetent, corruption from every pore.
That may work with the dip-shits in out-state Wisconsin and the ignorant pig-farmers who make up the Iowan Republican members (I was born there and lived there for many years so I know whereof I speak), but it wonât work on the National stage.
