“She was the woman who was standing under the streetlight with her dress pulled all the way up over her knees”
Yes, love this misogyny right here. Because a woman with her dress pulled all the way up over her knees must have been a whore, and not possibly a woman who was just raped. Rethink your talking points, you a-hole.
This both angers and saddens me. The man acts like he’s been taking Clueless pills, and yet up until last week, I wanted this man to run for President. I thought he was the alternative to Hillary – the red-state governor who could beat down Carnival Cruz, Randroid, and the rest of them – both in terms of policy and rhetoric. I was wrong.
So long, Brian. Enjoy your career in the private sector, because any chance to run for public office just turned into a mushroom cloud.
He already brought Perry into one fold, a meeting with the Canadian Ambassador about Keystone XXL. (He also invited Brownback to the event). Turns out Schweitzer brought the guys on board to be all in for Keystone XXL.
The funny thing is, most of his supporters on his page have no idea what the remarks were but are behind him 100%. Some of them who knows what he said thinks he shouldn’t apologize because they were either true humorous.
It was the CIA that she had issue with if I recall and it had to do with the computer breech as they were investigating the CIA involvement with Bush torture.
Stupid things to utter. But I’ll say this for him: He didn’t make some half-assed sorry-if-you-were-offended type apology that took a week of excuses and denials. That’s about as unequivocal an apology as you can make.
I said this morning that he’d either be offering a “heartfelt apology” within 24 hours, or he’d double down on what he said. Didn’t even take that long.
"I recently made a number of stupid and insensitive remarks to a reporter from the National Journal. I am deeply sorry and sincerely apologize for my carelessness and disregard,"
Well, as long as you know you’re stupid AND insensitive, there’s no need in me telling you that you are. There. Have a nice day.
He should have left those comments to Bill Maher. They’re jokes, and his description of Feinstein is actually fairly accurate in metaphorical terms. She’s been a shill for the defense industry for years, has defended the NSA with egregious suck-up bills, and then has one snit when it finally occurs to her that they’re not the good guys. Me, I’d vote FOR this guy after the comments.
