Discussion: Schwarzenegger: I'm 'Furious' About Indiana Religious Freedom Law

Discussion for article #234994

Oh please. Save the fake outrage for somebody who believes it.

Nah, to be fair, I think the Governator has, to some extent, been somewhat of an example for his party in terms of social justice issues like this or abortion. I actually believe him when he says he believes these things are bad for both the country and his party…mostly because he’s right and he really has no reason to be lying about it. Fiscally speaking, he’s just as much of an idiot as the rest of them though haha

Is there anything more straight forward in Arnold’s statement than the Corporations “have done the math”…good to know that was the likely swing consideration when determining when/how to act. Oh ,yeah …and winning over young voters…try doing the right thing for a change and see if that may appeal to more people.

Remember when republicans wanted to change the constitution so that Arnold could become president? Yeah, me either.

Arnie may not want to talk women issues but as a manly man he’ll talk Gay rights all day long.
This stupid attempt to legislate human rights down some fine line is just dumb. It is the religious with the never ending effort to butt their beliefs into our non-religious government. Of course the religious wackos want it and the Republicans that are against it are not a part of the religious tribe. So now they know that Arnold isn’t with them and that is why the Presidential candidates won’t commit to admitting just how stupid this law is, because the fundies would turn on them and they need those nuts too.

I don’t believe he’s furious. What’s Ah-nuld selling this week?

Thanks Arnold for that obvious observation, and your concern. Next expect to hear from Clint and the empty chair.

Disagree. When someone is indicating empathy for your position, it is unwise to question their motives unless they are blatant. I don’t think his “outrage,” as you call it, is fake.

When Spector, Hagel, Lugar and others of his ilk left the Republican Party (to be replaced by the likes of Ted Cruz), I recall a line from the film, “By Dawn’s Early Light”…

“You can’t kill your way out of this…somebody has to be around to turn it off”

In addition to the emergence of Zero (Ted Cruz, et al), those “conventional” Repukes left standing have all Fled For the Hills.

These Asylum Inmates, along with their cowardly orderlies cleaning their straight-jackets, pose the greatest threat to the Republic since the Axis.

The U.K. is also disgusted with Murdoch for providing filth a platform to deliver a bad ideology–the difference here is the United States’ size, power, energy use and position in world affairs.

Did someone say something?

He said that Republicans who pursue “the politics of division” and “laws that fly in the face of equality and freedom” would cost the party critical support from young voters and economic conservatives.

Methinks that ship might have already sailed…

Yea, Arnold, just like always, it is all about you and your fat cat friends. Maybe you should look up the word, empathy.

I will be gracious and thankful for Mr. Schwarzenegger’s remarks here. However, I am a Californian (at heart if no longer in the physical) and still remember that he vetoed a marriage equality bill, stating that this issue should be put up for a vote. We made it very clear to him at that time our deeply-held belief that people’s liberties and constitutional rights should never be put to a popular vote. He chose to ignore us.

Again, thank you, though, for your support here, Mr. Schwarzenegger.

Well over half a million dollars raised by these scammers as of this morning with thousands of Christian bigots who responded to a GoFundMe page that was set up within minutes of the announcement (less than four hours of being open after their WBND interview that started this whole scam) …that they were “forced” to close their doors.

Amazing.

In a narrow, cynical sense, I would normally say let the bigots waste their money on this shit. But then I look at what that money could be done if spent into the economy in more positive and productive ways, how many teachers’ salaries could that pay? How many cans of food for a homeless shelter could that buy? Hell… how many construction workers could that employ simply filling in pot holes, or re-striping a road…? etc. etc.

All because these retrograde imbeciles cling to a twisted bronze-age sky pixie mentality and get a little weirded out thinking about two guys humping each other to make each other feel good (usually out of love).

The hypocrisy of such fine Christians™ supporting these other fine, “persecuted” Christians™ while ignoring those who could really use help or are trying to do better things for people than make pizza is stunning.

What a weird world we live in.

I’m an ex SoCal guy that got out prior to Arnold’s reign. He sure devastated the state in his short run, so while he is taking the obvious correct stance here, he isn’t the go to guy for governmental policy or especially social issues.

Arnold’s credibility is somewhere around Newt Gingrich’s and Rudy Giuliani’s.

Can’t argue with you much here. He may be a nice guy, etc., but he was a pretty sucky governor. He was in over his head and allowed so many of Pete Wilson cronies to run the place just like Wilson had been re-elected.

Me, I lived in San Francisco for most of my 17 years in the Bay Area. I really miss it, but a good friend of mine told me just the other day that The City is mostly all young techies now. Playground for the rich. I have no real issues with them in particular, but I and so many others were priced out of living there. Oh, well, I never could afford to own property there anyway. Free market, right?

Yes, amazing, isn’t it? Forced to close in just ONE day of “bad business.” That’s not at all how I handled my little shop all those years ago. Different management styles, I guess.

If there were no history of Ahnold being a serial groper, and if he had not fathered a child with the housekeeper, I’d cheer this comment. If he’d never made the comment that he was going to kick the butts of union nurses. I’d probably cheer too. For now, I’m just furious that this phony was elected governor of my state. Oh, the “girlie men” too.
