Should also raise the bar on his Atty General nominee, but of course won’t.
Donnie, Donnie, Donnie. You really don’t know how badly you are fucking up, do you?
Gorsuch will be hobbled throughout his term on the Supreme Court by the taint of illegitimacy. A stolen seat, A “beauty contest” appointment by a president with mental issues, and the thoughts in the minds of many that any decision penned by this “usurper” is tilted toward a reactionary, minority government. Schumer can’t raise the bar high enough to satisfy this pissed off citizen.
Given that the Republicans completely blocked President Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland, I believe the bar for Neil Gorsuch should be raised to an infinite height.
This should bar ALL Drumpf appointees.
It’s an illegitimate Presidency.
Delay and obstruct; it’s the GOP way. About time the Democrats wised up, and though I suspect Gorsuch will eventually be seated, the longer it takes, the happier I will be. The Court seems to be working with a 4-4 split; what’s the hurry? Heck, if we had a working Congress, they could cut the number of justices down to 7. (Nah gunna happen, unfortunately.)
Scary part is that he does, he just doesn’t give a shit. As long as Darth Bannon is striving for “crash and burn”.
When things start really cratering, and Brand Trump is being hurt biglier than it is, I think Jared and Ivanka will stage a little putsch.
What do you expect from a so-called President.
They should filibuster all SCOTUS nominations for next 4 years. Or 3 years, and then use the Garland excuse.
But at least they seem to have a faint wisp of a glimmer of some sort of humanity? Still a rotten genetic pool on Ivanka’s side, though.

i was thinking about this the other day. as a lawyer, even though i have never been interested in being a judge, SCOTUS is pretty much the highest, baddest-ass position a lawyer can aspire to. so i understand gorsuch wanting to sit on the Court, because i understand all the professional implications of that.
on the other hand, he will forever be known (and he’ll be on the bench for probably around 40 years) as a Trump Justice. which – and i don’t care how scalia-like he might be – for an actual intellectual has GOT to be embarrassing. humiliating. and a big black mark on his intellectual reputation, no matter how towering it might be.
so as i sat there pretending it was me, i couldn’t decide what i’d do if trump had asked me. tough choice for me.
No wonder they flew to Florida. 20,000+ expected at protest outside Stonewall Inn in NYC
I saw on my Twitter TL, that the reason the draft of the “religious freedom” horror coming down the pike isn’t already a done deal is due primarily to the Kushners who realize what a clusterf*ck it will be. Unfortunately, they’re being outvoted by pure evil.
If only there were gays in South Florida to march in solidarity…
Trying to marginalize the judiciary is the scariest thing he has done thus far, in my judgement. This is a direct attack on the Constitution and the separation of powers. His tweet basically said the judiciary was impeding law enforcement. Calling a federal magistrate a “so-called judge” is like calling the media the purveyors of “fake news.” This is not a civilized discussion and shouldn’t be treated in any way as normal or acceptable. Maybe I am overly sensitive, but to me it reeks of authoritarianism. I think it deserves the strongest of condemnations. I worry for our country.
Take a cue from Trump himself. He is the “So-Called President”.
Bannon can’t sway that man’s opinion by sitting on his lap and whispering in his ear. Ivanka can.
