The entire GOP needs to recuse itself from any investigation of the Drumpfsters.
HAHAHAHA…nice try Chuck. These liars will try EVERYTHING before they give up.
Great–now what action can we take as citizens?
Specifically, how can we pressure Sessions to recuse himself? Does he have to make the decision himself? Or, will there be a Senate vote on the matter (either on the floor or sub-comittee)? If anyone has insight, I would like to hear it.
If the Senate as a whole has a say, we all need to call our senators and demand he recuse himself.
A big test for Sessions… Which side of history does he want to associate himself with? Does he want history to record the Dems were right in their critism of his nomination or is he willing to step past his past and do what is right?
He said that if Sessions involved himself in the investigation it would be a “clear conflict of interest.”
Conflict of what now? I think we’re at a place these days where the GOP in general and the Trump administration very much in particular literally doesn’t understand the concept. There are reasons you shouldn’t do certain things, even if you want to do those things? That’s crazy talk. You get all the power and then you can do all the things.
I think he wants to be on the side of George Wallace.
Ok, now that Schumer has again farted into the wind with a demand that can and will be laughed at, what is he doing to squeeze Republican nuts so that there is special Senate investigators committee of smart Senators and bright staffers from both sides of the aisle who will have jurisdiction across the legal and Senate rules spectra to look into things like Trump’s tax returns and NSA intercepts (which no one committee can do now) and do most of its work in public in a way to maximize fact finding and under oath testimony and minimize grandstanding.
In case you do not realize it, I do not trust Schumer to do anything that does not benefit Chuck Schumer. He can be aggressive and smart and act in the public interest when he wants to, but as in his foot dragging over the years on banking and securities legislation and taxation shows, that is not what motivates him.
Recusing himself from humanity would be the only solution…Chuck —
Oh Chuck, at least your sense of humor is still intact. Funny stuff.
Sessions advised the Trump campaign so he cannot be part of the investigation. He’s tainted to the max.
These rethugs have never seen an interest they couldn’t conflict
Drip, drip, drip . . .
Chuck is being too modest in his demands. Sessions must recuse himself from EVERYTHING the Attorney General does, at once.
Hahahaha…I’m liking this response and the angle he’s coming in from…like a cold stiletto to the kidney.
I’m hoping Sessions doesn’t recuse himself, obstructs any investigation, and conclusively demonstrates his allegiance to Trump over our Constitution.
history? they don’t care about history!
Lust for power is an instant gratification kinda thing. The past and future are irrelevant.
I used to feel the same way about Schumer. Recently I dug into his bio a little. As of 2014, he was only worth about 3/4 of a million bucks exluding his house that he paid about 180 grand for in the eighties.
Chuck Schumer was elected to the New York State Assembly at 23, the U.S. Congress at 29, and the U.S. Senate at 47. He’s never had any adult job outside elected office. At 66 years of age, he’s held an elected office for 43 years.
I certainly thought he would enrich himself more than that. He said his favorite meal is a hot dog and frozen yogurt at Costco. Seriously!
I’m going to give him a chance and see if he can surprise us. He has taken a lot of campaign money from the bankers, I see no evidence he has personally benefited financially. Not all of it went to just his campaign, he helped other Democrats by directing banker bucks into their campaigns. He’s bright and knows the ropes, I’m going to give him a chance before I pile on anymore.
