MIght we be better off with a parliamentary system like Israel’s so we don’t have to say we’re members of the same party as these crooks? I want to be in the party of Sheldon Whitehouse, Eliz Warren and Sherrod Brown. I don’t know - parliamentary might be even worse. But I despise Chuck “no net neutrality” Schumer almost as much as the republicans.

schumer is not to be trusted; his allegiance is elsewhere: “One of my roles, very important in the United States senate, is to be a shomer – to be the shomer Yisrael (guardian for Israel). And I will continue to be that with every bone in my body …”
durbin doesn’t strike me as being particularly adept either.

I don’t particularly trust Schumer either BUT having said that, screw Durbin and go with Murray. She’s stronger, smarter and has every bit of knowledge of the Senate as Durbin does.

Schumer has great institutional knowledge, can raise shitloads of money, and is adept at using a political shiv.
His policy positions are immaterial, because he won’t be setting policy.

There may well be parliamentary systems with which we’d be better off. The Israeli Knesset is not one of them. I don’t say that out of frustration with Netanyahu or Israel.

I believe Durbin, and Schumer should be ashamed. I don’t think Schumer or Durbin should be minority leader because neither man is tough enough to stand up to republicans. I think that Sherrod Brown would be a tough fighter for democrats.
