Chuck – so, deploy Congressional Democrats and surrogates out there and have them repeat President Unindicted Co-Conspirator (also known as Individual #1) has no business picking his own judge. Full stop. Repeat that again and again and again and again until it absolutely sticks. One statement on the Senate floor won’t do it. Everyone go out there, and repeat and repeat.

Now realistically that most likely won’t stop Kava confirmation. But we have this November. Narrative matters.

including his first confirmed Supreme Justice Gorsuch/ rickjones beat me to it

I thought this was his last term when he won the last election. Incredibly he seems to be considering another run.

Ah Jesus!

I wish Kentucky would quit sending him to DC.

McConnell will ignore this, but it shouldn’t stop democratic senators from hammering Kavanaugh with questions designed to make it clear that he, and by proxy the entire SCOTUS, will never be viewed as legitimate if he takes the position from a President that won through the commission of felony campaign violations.

For example…

“Judge Kavanaugh, I would appreciate your position on a hypothetical case. Suppose I were to steal a car and give it to my grandmother. If I was later caught and convicted, would you agree with a judgement that punishes me while simultaneously letting my grandmother keep the victim’s car?”

Enough of this might move him to withdraw, at least if we assume he has any integrity. It also might push a couple of GOP senators to question the timing. However, even if it doesn’t it will surely make it clear how little integrity of those pushing this have.

Republicans made a new rule that new Supreme court justices should not be confirmed during a president’s last year in office. They should be reminded about that any time they want to push forward appointing Kavanaugh during Trump’s last year in office (which by any reasonable standard started a while ago already).

Well I don’t think we’ll be able to delay hearings forever.

I still think we have a legitimate remedy - appoint two more justices for a total of 11. There’s nothing in the constitution about how many justices sit on the SCOTUS.

The GOP is a criminal enterprise.

Kavanaugh should self-deport on this. I mean…does he really want to be brought on SCOTUS as the illegitimate fruit of a treasonous, illegitimate President? Of course the answer is yes, which underlines his lack of integrity.

I think the 2nd Amendment covers any and all such eventualities. Whatever the crisis is, the 2nd Amendment will put a stop to it. It all depends on how you use it.

It will happen again, because the next time, it will be someone with trump’s demagoguery and psychopathy and Nixon’s smarts and experience. (Shudder)
That’s MY nightmare.

Yeah I agree with that. If he had any integrity he’d withdraw.

Well, it was a blue suit, until all of that Dijon mustard spilled on it.

Schumer & company could – on their own – do a major document dump of all Kavanaugh’s files that aren’t classified without waiting for someone in the press to do a FOIA… let there be a little crowd-sourced sleuthing prior to any hearings.

McConnell & company are all about bottling this stuff up. Let it out!
