Discussion: Schiff: Whenever Trump Calls Something Fake 'It Ought To Set Off Alarm Bells'

You could pretty much apply the ā€œopposite dayā€ rule to just about anything that Trump says.

Like Samuel L says in Pulp Fiction, ā€œCorrectomundo.ā€ Loving Schiff.

I just hope what we’re hearing whenever Schiff speaks is the voice of Sane America—educated, intelligent, rational, cosmopolitan, and reasonably caring if it’s not too inconvenient—saying ā€œAll right, you deplorables, we respected the process and let you have your fun but this is getting waaaayyy too insane and traitorous, chaotic and crimey so we’re shuttin’ her down and going back to normality. Sorry but you brought this on yourselves.ā€

Fake news. Innuendo. Squirrel!

The Trump Playbook is getting worn pretty thin.

We may not know the actual truth here, but folks do know when they are getting jerked around. And while Putin’s employee of the month may have surrounded himself with a smorgasbord of toadies, their little reality play is getting very bad reviews.

He can’t control the narrative like he could during the election. Shit is now real and fake news and alt facts no longer operable.

ā€œā€¦you can say a lot of things about the President, but one thing you cannot say is, he’s not subtle,ā€ Schiff said on CNN’s ā€œState of the Union.ā€

This was a major weakness of the Trump campaign’s (and later, administration’s) attempts to shape their message. By the time the original Brannon/Manafort/Flynn/etc subterfuge passed through Trump’s tiny twitter hands and third grade vocabulary, the intent became easy to intuit and spotlighted their deceit.

America: The world’s biggest ā€œgoing-out-of-business storeā€

ā€œOne of two things is going to happen. Either the US has to go on sale in order to keep volumes up, or volumes are going to come down. When we look at our business, the leading indicator is pricing. Pricing has come down.ā€

Because of some of the perceived positions coming out of the current administration, the US as a destination is potentially looking less attractive as a product .

It is a bold statement of course. But he is absolutely right!

Trump only uses the phrase to intentionally deceive! When you hear it, you know that a plan to deceive and distract you is being executed! Fake my ass!

Schiff said, ā€œI would tell people, whenever they see the President use the word ā€˜fake,’ it ought to set off alarm bells.ā€

And, when he accuses someone else of doing something - he has already, or soon will do it himself. And when he says, ā€œBelieve meā€ - don’t.
He’s a rather easy book to read. Fourth grade level, but he thinks he’s a genius.

Entirely correct, and the ā€œbelieve meā€ phrase is the best!

Of all people on Earth, why conceivably would we believe him?! When has he told the truth about anything, the whole truth intending to genuinely inform?! Ever in his life?!!

Gas prices are creeping up here, anyone else noticing that happening in your area?

It was wearing thin in its first edition, when it was still called The Nixon Playbook. These days it’s positively threadbare.

Trump is a checkers player in a chess town. He gets a pawn- like signing an executive order- and thinks he’s rolling on to victory. His tweets are his tell - whatever he’s ranting about is significant in that he’s demonstrating what he feels vulnerable about. Russia is fake news, phony?

Fake facts to doubt;

Trounce’s hair isn’t fake
Most of his wife isn’t fake
He barely even knows about a guy named Putin
He became President for his love of the country
He can spell/read/comprehend
He’s got this
He isn’t worried
It really is all about the next 100 days
It isn’t all about money
