Discussion: Schiff To Rosenstein: 'This Double Standard Won’t Cut It'

Maybe if Trump had sent e-mails . . . .

You go, Rep. Schiff! Time to end “It’s Okay If You Are A Republican” for once and for all.

He should have that subpoena ready.

This was a brilliant move by Rep. Schiff! Under no circumstances will t rumpp’s DOJ be allowed to move the goalposts in order to protect the President, in direct contrast to how Obama’s DOJ allowed the incrimination of HRC. Yes, elections have consequences, but justice is a blind and non-partisan bitch! If you can’t stand the heat, get the fuck out of the White House!

Not that this was surprising, but good for Schiff to be putting down markers. Rosenstein caved in to Nunes and his band of tea party asshats and gave over internal materials on a bunch of things like the warrant application, the texts between strock and his girlfriend, etc, that would not be turned over otherwise. That precedent will be used by Schiff to drive a truck through the refusal to turn over the Mueller report, which is on far more consequential and central matters.

Put another way, good luck after Nunes and his clowns burned down the paper wall protecting Justice Department decisions, claiming that it protects Trump.

Every single Trump “entity” is under investigation and he deserves an ounce of discretion or “caution”? PLEASE.

I’m still going with Rosenstein is being very careful with his words.

Just like Barr did in his hearings, no words of comfort for Democrats.

They don’t want to risk spooking the President into a rapid Saturday Night (more likely Thursday Night) Massacre to try to cover up the report.

My prediction is, and I’ll stand by this: The report will drop at the same time as indictments of Jr. and Jared, with implications on Individual-1 as having directed them to do things, but because of DOJ policy cannot be charged at this time.

And then all holy hell will break loose.

But until that point, both Barr and Rosenstein are walking on eggshells to keep from being summarily fired.

The single standard–presumption of innocence–won’t cut it either. This is not a private citizen whose quiet life we’re invading with mere doubts and suspicions. This is the president of the motherfucking United States and the faintest whiff of uncertainty represents an absolutely appalling and intolerable security risk. It’s not a question of what you can prove in court. It’s a question of national security that there’s the faintest possible risk to be considered. He needs to prove himself, his campaign, and his administration entirely innocent or steps have to be taken. We’ve let this go for an intolerably long period already while the damn traitorous GOP sat on their dirty hands.

Comey set the precedent -like it or not - and the DoJ must now honor it.

This permeates my thoughts, morning coffee time with Mrs awiztherewas, checking news feed throughout the day and evening. I try to check out every now and then for sanity’s sake.

Can Schiff call out the hounds and subpoena records of the FBI who were backing Felonious Chump and giving No Colludy Rudy damning election time tips? Who were forcing Comey’s hand and threatening some kind of revolt or election time hijinks? Stzrok and Page had their inboxes turned inside out, how about the rest of the FBI?

Now that’s something I’ve been wondering for quite a while… Seems like it’s only an offense for the FBI to leak about/criticize Republicans.

And I can’t seem to find that reference in any laws… Strange.

You mean if he had an email SERVER. Well, actually, he did. Thankfully, it was never compromised, because it was hooked up to the Alfa Bank server 24/7 until the whistle was blown.

Opening remarks of the emcee in chief at the recent Governor’s Ball held at the WH

Thank you very much, everybody. This is an honor. Fifty-nine governors. Think of that. But we actually have — we added a few from the islands, so we broke it down to 49. But we love to exaggerate just a little bit.

I have the same view, and a LOT that Rosenstein has done looks to be calebrated to buy time for Mueller. This includes handing over all of the internal records that Nunes and the Teaclowns like Meadows and the WrestlerBoyMolester demanded.

The reports about Rosenstein talking about employing the 25th A I think are a better guide of where his thinking is.

I am going with Rosenstein is playing 3 dimensional chess vs Trump and Guilliani who are playing checkers over the idea that the fix is in.

The bottom line is that Rosenstein’s reputation and future employablity is 110% based upon hm having done the right thing as deputy AG, and there is zero benefit for him in punking for Trump, Ditto Barr.

If he had worn a tan suit he’d be totally fucked.

I think that’s probably true of everyone in his orbit at all times. It’s got to be like having a cranky, colicky baby and finally getting them to go to sleep, but with PP they’re trying to keep him from destroying the country. Anything anyone says that can be slightly interpreted as threatening to him risks not only his wrath, but also that he’ll do some insanely stupid thing that will throw the nation into a constitutional crisis and/or get us all killed. I imagine that right now the tension is even greater than at anytime before and no one wants to wake the baby.
