when comey’s letter was released it took donnie about 2 seconds to declare it “bigger than watergate!” funny how a lot of his bloviating is coming back to bite him in his arrogant ass.
Drumpfian projection
or Rob Schneider for inflicting “Deuce Bigalow, Male Gigolo” on us.
"Playbook Drumpfian projection.
Yes, I remember that. But that Comey wanted to go public is new – as far as I know it hasn’t been reported before.
I guess I’m still in shock and disbelief Russia executed the operation against us with this level of success while we really didn’t do much to counter…
There is often a fine dividing line between excess of caution and misfeasance.
True, but given what we now know about the vulnerability of so many American voters to the influence of fake news and propaganda, a posteriori, it is not surprising at all.
Terrific reporting at NY Review of Books from M. Tomaskey, in which he touches on what the hurdles are the Democrats are up against what we call the RW noise machine to get their message out about the dangers trump and the Rs present.
Democrats and the “liberal” media simply do not have the power to shape the terms of discourse in the same way that the congeries of talk-radio hosts, websites, blogs, and social media outlets of the right do. They don’t even attempt to. Hardly a day goes by without the Trump White House doing something that makes me wonder about an “imagine if Obama had…” scenario.
OT, but good news. Texas House Speaker has said that House will not take up Gov. Lite Patrick’s bathroom bill Speaker Straus is a country club economic conservative who will listen to bidness and not the holy rollers.
Another OT… if anyone cares…
What George W. Bush Really Thought of Donald Trump’s Inauguration
…Bush’s endearing struggle with his poncho at the event quickly became a meme, prompting many Democrats on social media to admit that they already pined for the relative normalcy of his administration. Following Trump’s short and dire speech, Bush departed the scene and never offered public comment on the ceremony.
But, according to three people who were present, Bush gave a brief assessment of Trump’s inaugural after leaving the dais: “That was some weird shit.” All three heard him say it.
A spokesman for Bush declined to comment.
your fear is well-founded. but it is not only about The Trump Team’s guilt. it is also an opportunity to get some republicans back into the real world. they aren’t the quickest learners. i think this needs to go long enough that they are undeniably gob-smacked. something that could force them into understanding they have been played.
I’ll give it a read.
I strayed after I read this story to a story that is up from Frank Rich. He talks about the delegitimization of the Nunes committee, and it’s not necessarily a bad thing.
@ralph_vonholst I hate myself now that I’ve re-read my message to you. It’s barely coherent, bordering on a trump level of communicating. Mi dispiace.
Thank you (x1000)
What did ya want him to do?
The necessary amount to have that chat with the current senate leadership ended with McConnell threatening to go to the papers to protect Trump.
You know, I generally agree with that take. And I understand what Schiff has been doing since the Nunes night trip to the WH along that line – he forces Nunes to keep digging in broad daylight and thereby keeps their cover-up operation in the public/media conversation. And he’s been really, really good – Nunes looks just stupid and hapless.
Uhhhh
Just because its not public, doesn’t mean that there wasn’t any retaliation.
I know. But in the end the reality is we let them succeed. At least with regard to the election result, and at least in short term.
Not at all. I didn’t notice anything unusual until you mentioned it.
