Discussion: Scalise: ATF 'Should' Review Its Bump Stocks Sale Authorization

What, do you think they can’t read? You need to change the law dickhead.

Seems like they’re clinging to bump stocks as the holy grail because they don’t want to go further and do something really meaningful.

It’s like using a water gun to put out a 5-alarm fire. Surely we can do much much more.

“She doesn’t want to stop at bump stocks. They want to go out and limit the rights of gun owners, and so I do think it’s a little bit early for people to say they know what to do to fix this problem.”

We don’t want to limit the rights of gun owners. We just want you to understand what those rights actually are.

I know there are people that are asking the ATF to go back and review their 2010 decision to authorize it, and I think they should, and they are,” Scalise said in an interview with NBC News’ Chuck Todd.

A) that’s rather slick of him

B) The reaction fot that ATF decision will be fun to watch.

"They’ve got a bill written already and I mean, look, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi already said she wants it to be a slippery slope,” Scalise said

That bill is a bi-partisan, but please continue congressman.

It’s almost like the ATF needs a confirmed director so it could function…

10 years without one is not helping the situation.

“If you talked to anybody about a week ago, most people including myself didn’t even know what a bump stock was,” Scalise told Todd.

Well maybe you f----- should have done a little research then before legislating on it all these years. Also, SO not looking forward to Scalise being the go-to quote generator for all things gun-related just because his empathy lacking ass got shot as a result of his and his party’s gun humping the past 30 years.

If you think what Scalise said is bad, you should see what some of the gun humping sites are posting. I stumbled on a couple while I was trying to find some context for the 2010 ATF authorization, and they were just as 2nd graderish as you would expect.

Bump stocks are thrown under the bus faster than the confederate flag was in SC after the Church Shooting.

For the same reason. So we don’t look closely at reasonable gun control measures.

NRA owns republicans, republicans cripple the ATF, no confirmed director since 2007.

Ammosexuals: you can even shoot them and they learn nothing.

He is probably impotent as a result of his injuries. He needs more so than ever to compensate for his manhood.

Sop now these Fright-Wing gun-freaks are screaming the ATF act outside of the law. Amazing.

No worries. NPR has it covered. They found a father of one of the LV victims who is still a “strong supporter of the 2nd amendment.” That’s great, but I’m also a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment as it is actually written and within the context of Articles 1-8 and 2-2. Oddly enough, there was no discussion of what constitutes a “supporter.”

Review the sale? Why the fuck is it even legal to manufacture such a thing? I didn’t even know they existed before this. Ain’t innovation grand!

I haven’t seen the video from the bump stock inventor’s site (but I did read that WaPo article) but if those comments are just as ‘patriotic’ as that video…

I imagine he still has pain from his injuries.

Good to see Karma doing its job. Hopefully it’s has more in store for Scalise. Of karma is taking suggestions… my vote is sepsis…

Still afraid of the NRA. Getting a bad rating from the NRA is somehow worse than getting shot. Some people go through life-threatening experiences and come out with a new perspective and courage. Not these guys. Too cowardly to vote for anything not preapproved. No wonder Trump finds it so easy to abuse them.
