Cruz: Justice Scalia’s family is unfortunately too naive. Obama’s America is evil.
Smoking kills. The Great Unwashed refuse to believe that, go figure.
The sky is blue and the earth revolves around the sun: two other conspiracies worth investigating by Republicans!
"We’re praying for him. We ask others to accept that and pray for him.”
Of course the Opus Dei Scalia family is praying. Scalia died without giving a last confession or receiving the last rights. They have to pray heavily to get Scalia out of Purgatory.
The Pelican Long-form.
Son on Scalia: “Our family just has no doubt that he was taken from us by natural causes.”
The terms of the agreement were clear: 30 years on SCOTUS, then payment due to Mephistopheles.
(Unfortunately, Cheney found a technicality in his contract, so he’s still in arbitration.)
O/T, but what they hey. The only story where comments doesn’t work is the story of a MO Rep resigning over “rumors.” They must think we can’t be nice. ~snicker~
Oh pish posh…he just doesn’t want to end up dead too…
…sigh…
I don’t know. A 79-year-old overweight Italian man, dying of a heart attack? Sounds fishy to me.
Oh my God. The conspiracy is even deeper and more diabolical than we suspected!
Seriously, what son should have to go on TV and tell crazy people to stop being crazy at a time like this? It’s the last thing you ought to have to do when a parent dies, even when the parent was, rich, powerful or famous.
Don’t forget, a heavy smoker too.
This gets more suspicious all the time!
When I see pundits, including Jonathan Turley, on CNN pontificating that an autopsy should’ve been performed on Scalia I want to scream.
well, that’s all fine and good but until we know what political party this son is affiliated with, these “truths” can’t be ignored!
after all, what can the family possibly know that they AM radio idiots don’t know better?
Only an ignorant moron like Trump would think that a murderer would leave a pillow on a victims face instead of just removing it afterwards.
Then again, Trump is an ignorant moron.
I’ve seen Monk enough times to know that this guy is a key suspect. He won’t turn out to be the culprit, though he will be hiding something and my wrong accusations of him will lead me to the real perp as well as some wacky event in the process. And if that doesn’t work, I’ll go the Rockford File route and cross empty streets at night until someone tries to run me down, and then I’ll track down the car’s owner and have the killer. It never fails.
I hope the call girl he was with is ok.
What this brings the unflattering spotlight on is how messed up the Texas death protocol is. A Justice of the Peace (who declares a person dead) is not required to have any medical or legal training. It’s a county-wide elected post. The back-up is laughable as well. The County Judge acts in the absence of the JP (as was done here). A County Judge in Texas is not a judicial type of Judge. They are the county-wide CEO of the Commissioners Court. An elected position, the County Judge is not required to have a legal degree. Even though they don’t have a legal degree, Texas Statute allows them to sit as sentencing judge in misdemeanor cases if they are needed to carry a docket.
Trump called the circumstances of how the pillow was allegedly found when Scalia was discovered dead “unusual."
Scalia always slept with his face buried in a pillow covered by a plastic bag tied around his neck. What’s so unusual about that?
