He was educated, too, correct? So, by his own, um, ‘reasoning,’ that means he doesn’t have the right to make a ruling either, right? Is he saying that every educated lawyer should be forbidden from ruling on every legal matter, or just those legal matters related to marriage? Does he somehow want to populate the court with uneducated lawyers? How would one even become a lawyer without an education? I’m confused.
But then, I’ve been confused by him for years, so nothing new there.

So…on the subject of egotism.
It would be amusing if Scalia started pissing off the conservative judges he’s been ripping in his dissent to the extent that they start getting more liberal out of spite.
I mean, if there’s one thing we know conservatives have in abundance it is spite afterall.

Calling the Supreme Court a “strikingly unrepresentative character of the body voting on today’s social upheaval,” he decried the fact that all nine justices were all Harvard or Yale educated, mostly from the East Coast, and lacking in a Evangelical Christian or Protestant.

Seems Scalia is suggesting a more diverse court would have produced a different verdict? Not sure he knows what “diversity” actually means. I guess words have no meaning any more…

Did he get around to saying anything about why, or if, the majority’s legal reasoning was faulty? I just saw a bunch of blah blah tradition blah blah not representative blah blah. His consternation seems to have made him confused about how the court is chosen and what it’s supposed to do.

I look forward to seeing the majority opinions in which this dissent is used against Nino “The Bloviator” Scalia. He sure as hell does not know how to win friends or influence people.
