Discussion: SC Teacher Used Limbaugh's Book To Teach Third Graders About Civil War

Discussion for article #226041

I think it insulting to scholarship to use Rush Limbaugh as source material. Even for 3rd graders. One could not expect unbiased information in such a book. It would be about Rush, not history. Rush is incapable of independent scholarship because the theme would always devolve to be about HIM.

And I’ll bet she uses “How the Elephant Got It’s Trunk” and other Kipling “Just So Stories” to teach Science.

“It happens to be true, is why it’s brilliant, and they’re old enough to understand that,” he said.

So now Rush equates himself with the founders of America?

Why not just surrender your brain to Rush and put his fat mug on the $5 bill?

Person purporting to be teacher calls into Limbaugh show. I have no way of knowing that call wasn’t a plant from the publisher trying to drum up sales.

Rush if this bullcrap were true why did slavery exist here in the 1st place?
Rush, if your bullcrap were true why did we fight a civil war?
Rush if your bullcrap were true why did we have a civil rights movement?

If Rush repeated the third grade and applied himself he could possibly double his I.Q.

Maybe she can use 1984 to teach the kids about freedom.

IT would still be in the low double digits.

I thought Rush’s audience pretty much solely consisted of 3rd graders?

SC and MS are so behind in everything good and first in poor quality of life measurements. Are there no curriculum development specialists in the school district who supervise instructional materials.

America’s Exceptionalism covers more than slavery. First the massacre and ethnic cleansing of the Native American and the murder and stealing of land from the Mexicans. I wonder if this caller was even real.
