Discussion: Saudi Record Of Trump Biz Bail Outs Under Scrutiny As US Responds To Missing Writer

Systemic “in your face” rot and corruption. And this is okay with gop “leadership”. Midterm elections can’t come soon enough. Can’t wait to see the House investigative committees Benghazi the shit out of trump’s finances.

See haters! Trump isn’t owned by Russia. He’s owned by many others: Saudi Arabia, North Korea, Turkey, Egypt, and other places where Trump owns properties and owes money.

See, no need to obsess over Russia, okay?

What’s a dead reporter between such good friends?

Just an enemy of the state to be dealt with…

Does anyone in TrumpCo understand that there is a new top dog in Saudi Arabia? MBS is running things, there are no more princes running around spending boat loads of cash, there is only one.

Overall this is a pretty useful article; it shows the general outline of the corruption. And if you want to get a comment on that, Walt Shaub is your first call, so bravo on that.

Just one quibble I’d point out, although others may have others:

Trump paid his first foreign visit as president to Saudi Arabia last year, praised its new young ruler and boasted of striking a deal to sell $110 billion of U.S. weapons to the kingdom.

It is a fact that Trump boasted about that. It is not a fact that any such “deal” was ever made. Trump cobbled together a number of potential sales, some dating to well before he showed in town, and called it a “deal” as if he’d done this amazing deal like he’s reputed by himself to constantly be doing. There is no such deal. And now over to you, everyone else.

“Saudi Arabia, I get along with all of them. They buy apartments from me. They spend $40 million, $50 million,” Trump told a crowd at an Alabama rally…

“But this Khashoggi guy? Not so much. He never bought anything from me. Nobody ever heard of him before. Maybe they just made him up.”

Trump’s base (The MAGAats) like the totally ignorant Kanye are so easy to fool: Trump talks about national sovereignty and the interconnected global economy is threatening the US…he is full of shit! Trump has relied on foreign Oligarchs and mob billionaires and dictators for bail outs. Trump relied on Putin Russian banks to keep his 2 failing golf resorts in Scotland solvent; Trump relied on Russian Oligarchs (mob billionaires with Putin) to save Trump Tower in NY and several other projects in Florida and Panama, Trump has relied on the Saudi Royal family to save him.

Trump loves those foreign global capitalists that he tells his base are destroying America…a total con job!

Trump’s pig of a son retweeted some crap about how Khashoggi was a jihadist. Imagine how much of a pus-filled moral abscess you have to be if you’re the guy who does the scurrilous stuff Trump won’t soil his hands with. Disgusting.

Feeling crappy today after reading Bret Stephens, whose column is all about how Democrats keep shooting themselves in the foot. What else is new? What does he suggest? Too outspoken or not enough? Neither wins. This Saudi thing won’t matter - I mean, after the two-hour tete a tete with Vlad was a giant meh and bro Kavanaugh, I’m thinking that only a stock market crash will change things. Or the burning up of the planet.

If the McConnell’s US Senate remains in Republican hands, the government will do nothing to protect our nation from Trump and his crooked friends in Russia, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Qatar, Cyprus, and BIG Oil.

The old joke about smoking comes to mind. I think the answer there is to not read anyone from the cottage industry where bashing Democrats is your niche. Maybe a very significant and substantial electoral victory could change things. Worth a try, right?

The victim was a legal American resident.

If you’re an American citizen traveling abroad -especially if you hold progressive views -know that your own government will not defend you if the current “President” has business interests with that country and/or if Evangelicals don’t care about your existence. Also know that authoritary regimes worldwide are currently emboldened by this “President” to break international laws, norms, and traditions. But also know that if you’re an immigrant or person of color, you’re not safe at home either.

This is one of many areas in which the press has really dropped the ball. Given Trump’s refusal to fully disclose his business interests and divest, he should be scrutinized for conflicts on each and every one of his policies and statements. No exceptions.

He’s three things Trump hates. He’s a journalist, he works for the hated “Amazon Washington Post”, and he’s crossways with Trump’s benefactors in KSA. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Trump was tipped off this was happening.
